I have a quick question. Is it possible to edit videos directly on the CapCut cloud without downloading them to my device?
Right now, it's prompting me to download the project, but I don't have enough storage available. I'm hoping there's a way to edit everything in the cloud instead.
Has anyone been able to do this, or is downloading required? Thanks in advance for any help!

Yes, you can edit directly in the cloud, but you must use the browser-based web version of CapCut instead of the desktop or mobile app.

Why it's prompting you to download
When you open a cloud project inside the CapCut desktop app or mobile app, the application automatically tries to download the raw media files to your local cache so your computer's processor can render and scrub through the timeline smoothly. If your storage is full, the app blocks you from opening it.
How to Edit Strictly in the Cloud (No Local Storage Needed)
To edit without saving files locally, switch over to the web browser editor:

Open a Browser: Go to capcut.com on your computer (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Safari work best).

Sign In: Log into the exact same CapCut account you used to upload your cloud project.

Go to Workspace / Cloud: Click on Workspace on the left menu, then select Cloud Space or your personal space.

Open in Web Editor: Find your project or uploaded media files and click Edit Online (or create a new web project and import straight from your CapCut Cloud space).
Note: Because processing happens on cloud servers in the web browser, streaming and scrubbing heavy 4K footage may depend heavily on your internet speed. When you're finished, you can export the video directly or save the final render to cloud storage without keeping local cache files.
