Glow 2 Effect Missing in CapCut (Pro User) – Need Help

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone can help me with an issue I'm having in CapCut.

I'm a CapCut Pro user, and I'm trying to use the Glow 2 effect, but it doesn't appear in my Effects library.

Here's what I've already tried:

  • Updated CapCut to the latest version.
  • Uninstalled and reinstalled the app.
  • Tested on different devices.
  • Confirmed that I have an active Pro subscription.

Despite all of this, the Glow 2 effect is still missing.

Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a solution? Is the effect region-specific, device-specific, or has it been removed?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi,

If you have already:

  • Updated CapCut to the latest version
  • Reinstalled the app
  • Tried multiple devices
  • Verified your CapCut Pro subscription

then the problem is probably not with your account or device.

The reasons are mostly like below:

  1. The effect has been removed or replaced. CapCut periodically retires effects due to licensing, performance improvements, or creative updates. According to CapCut's Help Center, even Pro-exclusive effects can disappear from the library and are removed across Mobile, Desktop, and Web.
  2. Server-side rollout or regional availability. Some CapCut assets are delivered from the cloud rather than bundled with the app. Users in different countries may temporarily see different effect libraries while new content is rolled out. Some effects are region-locked.

  3. The effect may have been renamed. CapCut reorganizes effects into different categories or releases updated versions under new names instead of keeping the old one.

Things you can try now:

  • Search for "Glow" instead of browsing categories.
  • Check both Video Effects and Body Effects.
  • Try the Desktop version and CapCut Web to see if it appears there.
  • Open an older project that already used Glow 2 (if you have one). Existing projects often retain effects even after they're removed from the library.

  • Send feedback through Profile → Settings → Help & Feedback and mention the exact effect name ("Glow 2"). CapCut developers recommend this when a specific effect disappears.

If you're asking specifically about Glow 2

I searched other communities and I could not find any evidence that Glow 2 is available to some Pro users but blocked for others because of their subscription.

If it's missing on multiple devices using the same Pro account, it's much more likely that the asset has been retired, renamed, or is being served selectively by region rather than there being an issue with your subscription.

If you tell me:

  • Android or iPhone?
  • Country/region?
  • Your CapCut version number?

I can check whether other users with the same setup are reporting the disappearance of Glow 2 specifically.
