I'm trying to finish an edit, but I've run into a strange issue that I can't figure out.
Whenever I use two instances of the same text animation, one of them seems to turn into a video or duplicate itself. I'm not sure if this is expected behavior or if it's a bug.
The animation I'm using is Dreadful Rain, and it's a loop animation. This only seems to happen when I use the same animation more than once.
I've searched online but haven't been able to find any answers.
Hi,
From your screenshot and description, this doesn't sound like intended behavior.
It sounds like a CapCut bug with the "Dreadful Rain" loop text animation, especially since it only happens when you use that same loop animation multiple times.
I have seen few other CapCut users have reported very similar issues with loop animations randomly "linking" to another text object or behaving as though one text layer becomes a copy of another, which suggests it's an animation/rendering glitch rather than something you're doing wrong.
Here are the things I would try, in roughly this order:
- Delete the affected text layer and create it from scratch.
- Don't duplicate the existing text.
- Add a new text layer and manually apply Dreadful Rain again.
- Use a slightly different loop animation on one of the text layers.
- If the bug disappears, it's almost certainly tied to that specific animation.
- Compound the text layer (PC version).
- Users on our forum have mentioned in the past that they have fixed animation glitches by converting the animated text into a compound clip before continuing to edit.
- Save, close CapCut completely, and reopen the project.
- Also clear CapCut's cache and see once if that helps.
- Update (or roll back) CapCut.
- CapCut has had a number of animation-related bugs in recent desktop versions, so if this started after an update, trying another version may help.
If it's only happening in the preview and the export is correct, it's almost certainly just a preview/rendering bug.
If the exported video also has the duplicated text, then it's likely an issue with the Dreadful Rain animation itself in your current CapCut version.
