I'm having a problem that I can't figure out how to fix.
As you can see, there's a gray, transparent rectangle at the top right of the white line. Because of it, I can only shorten, extend, or move my recordings in increments equal to the width of that rectangle instead of moving them smoothly.
Even when I zoom out so far that the rectangle is no longer visible, my recordings still snap to that same interval. It makes fine adjustments really difficult because everything moves in noticeable jumps.
Is this an intended feature, or did I accidentally enable a setting? If anyone knows how to make clips move smoothly again, I'd really appreciate the help.

From your video, this looks like CapCut's timeline snapping/frame-grid behavior, not a damaged project.
The gray translucent rectangle attached to the playhead is the current snap/grid interval.
When it's enabled, clips can only be moved or trimmed in steps equal to that interval, which is why they "jump" instead of moving smoothly even after zooming.
Here are the things to check:
- Turn off Snapping (Magnet).
- Look for a magnet icon above the timeline.
- If it's highlighted, click it to disable snapping.
- Check if you're in frame-by-frame editing mode.
- Some versions of CapCut can lock edits to frame intervals. If you've enabled a frame/grid option, switch back to normal timeline editing.
- Zoom in further.
- If snapping is off but movement is still coarse, CapCut may only allow movement at frame boundaries. Zooming in should reduce the apparent jump size, though it won't allow sub-frame positioning (video editors can't place clips between video frames).
If the gray rectangle stays exactly the same width regardless of zoom, that's not normal and may indicate a timeline setting or a bug.
