I recently updated CapCut, and since then, the fade-in and fade-out text animation has stopped working. I’ve tried several troubleshooting steps, but nothing has fixed the issue. Interestingly, my sister, who lives in a different location, is experiencing the same problem. She even bought a new laptop, but after downloading CapCut, the issue persists. Could this be a problem with the latest update? Is anyone else experiencing this?

Hi,

The issue you are facing with the fade-in and fade-out text animation in CapCut is related to the latest update. The fact that:

  • You've already tried troubleshooting steps,

  • Your sister is having the same problem (even on a brand new laptop), and

  • The problem started only after updating CapCut,

indicates to a bug or glitch introduced in the most recent CapCut version.

You're likely not the only one experiencing this. When updates introduce bugs like this, it is common for many users to be affected — especially when the issue occurs across different devices and setups.

What you can do:

Here are a few actions you can take:

  1. Report the bug to CapCut developer support: In the CapCut app, go to Settings → Help → Report a Problem and describe the issue in detail. If more users report the same bug, it's more likely to be prioritized for a fix.

  2. Try a rollback (if possible): If you’re on Windows or Android, you might be able to uninstall the latest version and install a previous one (from a safe, reputable source like UptoDown). This is trickier on iOS or Mac unless you have a Time Machine backup.

  3. Try alternative animations (temporarily): While waiting for a fix, consider using a combo of opacity keyframes to manually recreate the fade-in/fade-out effect — it’s a bit more manual, but it gets the job done.

  4. Adjusting the duration of text clips or manually applying fade effects can serve as temporary workaround.
  5. Keep an eye on CapCut's official website or app store listings for any updates that may address this bug.

Manual Fade (Opacity Keyframes): If you need a fade effect, you can try manually creating it. Select the text clip, go to its properties, and find the 'Opacity' setting. You can add keyframes at the beginning and end of the desired fade duration, setting the opacity to 0% at the start (for fade-in) or end (for fade-out) and 100% where it should be fully visible. This is more complex than using the built-in animation but can achieve the same result.

It's definitely inconvenient, but given that your sister has the same problem on a new device, you can be fairly confident it's a software issue with the current version of CapCut and not something wrong on your end. Hopefully, CapCut addresses this bug in their next update.
