I have a project that was uploaded into our Space and when I want to download it so i can work on it in my computer the project doesn't finish to download. It gets stuck, in this case, in 69% and shows a message like its trying to connect but it never connects. This isn't the first time that this happened and I don't know what's going on. We tried deleting from Spaces the project, uploading it again, wait for 1 hour to see if it finishes it but with no luck.
Hi,
Thanks for sharing the screenshot. Based on what you are describing and the image (showing the project download stuck at 69% with the “Conectando...” message), it seems like CapCut Spaces is having trouble establishing a stable connection to complete the download. The image confirms the situation: downloading a nearly 12GB project ("BeautyWorld news-copy") stalled at 8.29GB.
Based on the symptoms (stuck download, "Connecting..." status, large file size, recurrence), here are several potential causes and troubleshooting steps you can try:
-
Network Instability (Most Likely Culprit):
- Check Your Connection: Even if your internet seems fine for Browse, large file transfers are much more sensitive to brief dips in speed or stability. The "Connecting..." message strongly suggests a network issue.
- Run a Speed Test: Check your download speed and latency (ping). High latency or fluctuating speeds can interrupt large transfers.
- Use a Wired Connection: If you're on Wi-Fi, try connecting your computer directly to your router with an Ethernet cable. Wired connections are generally more stable.
- Restart Network Gear: Power cycle your modem and router (unplug them, wait 30 seconds, plug them back in).
- Try a Different Network: If possible, try downloading the project on a completely different network (e.g., at work, a friend's house) to see if the issue is specific to your home network. Test from a different location if possible
- Download During Off-Peak Hours: Network congestion can be higher at certain times. Try downloading late at night or early in the morning.
- Try downloading from the CapCut mobile app instead of desktop
- If available, use the web version of CapCut Spaces
- Temporarily disable VPN or proxy if you’re using one.
- Test with a hotspot from your phone (just to check if it connects).
-
CapCut Application Issues:
- Restart CapCut: Close the CapCut application completely and reopen it.
- Restart Your Computer: A simple reboot can resolve temporary glitches.
- Check for Updates: Ensure you have the latest version of the CapCut desktop application installed. Updates often contain bug fixes.
- Clear Cache (If Possible): Sometimes cached data can cause issues. Look within CapCut's settings for an option to clear the cache (the exact location might vary).
-
Project Size and Complexity:
- 12GB is a significant project size. While CapCut should handle it, large projects are more susceptible to interruptions during transfer. Network stability becomes even more critical.
- Corrupted Project or Upload:
- You said you've reuploaded it, but it’s worth trying these:
- Re-upload the project from another computer or internet connection.
- Ensure the file name has no special characters or weird symbols.
- Try compressing the project folder before uploading, if possible.
- You said you've reuploaded it, but it’s worth trying these:
- Restart the Download Process
- Pause and resume the download
- Cancel completely and restart the download
- Close and reopen CapCut before retrying
- Export the project as a CapCut template file (.capcut) from another device
- Transfer via cloud storage or USB instead of using Spaces sync
-
CapCut Spaces / Server Issues:
- While you've tried re-uploading, there might be intermittent issues with the Spaces servers themselves. This is harder to diagnose but possible. Check if other users in your Space are experiencing similar problems.
- Can other members of the Space download this specific project successfully? This helps isolate if the problem is on your end or more widespread.
- Can you download other, smaller projects from the same Space without issues?
- Sometimes CapCut’s servers, especially the Spaces service, have downtime or slowdowns.
- Search “CapCut down” on Twitter/X or Reddit for live user reports.
-
Local Computer Issues:
- Disk Space: Double-check that you have significantly more than 12GB of free space on the drive where CapCut is trying to download the project. While lack of space usually causes an error before or at the very end of a download, it's worth confirming.
- Firewall/Antivirus: Temporarily disable your firewall or antivirus software to see if it's interfering with the connection. Remember to re-enable it afterwards. Sometimes security software can mistakenly flag large, sustained downloads.
Troubleshooting Strategy:
- Start with the network checks (restart router, try wired connection) as this is the most probable cause given the symptoms.
- If network checks don't help, move on to restarting CapCut and your computer.
- Check for CapCut updates.
- Try downloading a different, smaller project from the Space to see if it works. Ask other Space members if they can download the problematic project.
- Consider trying a different network entirely.
- As a temporary measure, check firewall/antivirus settings.
The "connecting" message suggests the client is having trouble maintaining a stable connection to CapCut's servers. Since you've already tried re-uploading and waiting, focusing on the network connection and the CapCut application itself is the next logical step.
If none of these steps work, consider reaching out to CapCut technical support directly, explaining the issue and the steps you've already taken. You can mail them at [email protected].
