It was working fine yesterday but now i am facing issues. my project doesnt load and i have restarted my laptop, tried incognito mode and other browsers and when i do that i get a server error. i have even hotspotted my laptop and still nothing works. i downloaded the desktop app and it did not sync there so i couldnt try it out. i really need to edit this video and any help could be greatly appreciated.
Hi,
Since you are getting server and loading errors on both browsers and the desktop app isn’t syncing, the issue is likely on CapCut’s server side or with how your project is being fetched from the cloud.
Step 1: Confirm CapCut Server Status
Before anything else, check whether CapCut is having server downtime:
If you see reports of outages, that’s the root cause and you will need to wait it out. (There have been recent cases where CapCut Web and Cloud sync went down globally for a few hours.)
Step 2: Clear Cache and Try a Fresh Login
If servers are fine, try this carefully:
-
Logout of your CapCut account on web.
-
Clear browser cache and cookies for
capcut.com
.-
In Chrome: Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data → “Cookies and site data” → search “capcut”.
-
-
Log back in and reopen your project.
-
Try both the direct editor link ( https://www.capcut.com/editor ) and your My Projects page ( https://www.capcut.com/my-projects ).
Step 3: Try accessing from another device
If you have another laptop or even your mobile (CapCut app):
-
Log in with the same CapCut account.
-
Go to Cloud Projects or My Projects → see if your project shows up or loads there.
If it loads on another device, you can export or duplicate it there, then reopen it on your laptop.
Step 4: Check cloud sync (Desktop App)
If your CapCut desktop app didn’t sync projects, do this:
-
Open CapCut PC → My Workspace → Cloud Projects.
-
Click the refresh icon at the top.
-
Ensure you are logged into the same account used on web.
-
Wait a few minutes — sometimes projects take a while to appear.
If it still doesn’t show, go to:
-
Settings → “Sync Settings” → ensure Auto Sync is enabled.
-
Try toggling it off and back on.
Step 5: Backup Plan (Accessing Cached Data)
If your project doesn’t load and you urgently need the content:
-
Check if the original video clips are still available on your computer (Downloads, Videos folder, etc.).
-
You can recreate the timeline temporarily on CapCut Desktop or even another editor until the server issue resolves.
If you were editing CapCut Web, unfortunately, the project file itself is stored online not locally so you’ll need the servers to respond.
Step 6: Contact CapCut Support
If none of the above helps:
-
Write an email to [email protected]
-
Include these details:
-
Your CapCut account email
-
The approximate time you last accessed the project
-
Whether it’s CapCut Web, Desktop, or Mobile
-
Screenshot of the server error
-
Project name
-
CapCut team can restore or re-sync your project manually in some cases.
In the meantime...
If you can tell us:
-
Whether you were editing on CapCut Web or CapCut Desktop, and
-
The exact error message or screenshot text (like “Server error 500” or “Loading failed”),
…we can help you narrow down whether it’s a temporary outage, account sync issue, or project file corruption, and give exact steps for your case.
Can post the error message (or screenshot text) here so we can analyze it?
