Hello,
I canceled the auto-renewal for my CapCut Pro subscription and would like to re-enable it at the previous price. My subscription is still active, and I’ve been a customer for about a year. Unfortunately, I’m only being offered the new, higher price, even though my current month is still ongoing.

I’d appreciate any help.

Hi,

CapCut Pro has had some price changes recently, and many users have reported similar issues.

To try and re-enable auto-renewal at your previous CapCut Pro price while your subscription is still active, follow these steps and tips:

1. Try the "Restore Subscription" option:

There is a "Restore Subscription" option that can bring back your old pricing, especially if you had auto-renewal enabled previously. The exact steps might vary slightly depending on whether you're on mobile or desktop, but here's the idea:

  • On Mobile:

    1. Open the CapCut app.
    2. Click on "Pro" or your profile image (in the top right corner).
    3. Look for an option like "Manage" or "Manage Subscription."
    4. Within the subscription management screen, you should find a "Restore Subscription" button. Click that to see if your previous price is offered.
  • On Desktop/Web Browser:

    1. Go to the CapCut website and log in to your account.
    2. Navigate to your profile or account settings.
    3. Look for "Pro" or "Subscription" options.
    4. Again, within the management section, see if there's a "Restore Subscription" option.

2. Check on a Different Platform (Desktop vs. Mobile):

  • If you subscribed via the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android):

    • Open your device’s subscriptions page and check if there's an option to "Resubscribe" at the previous rate while your subscription is still active.

  • If you subscribed via CapCut’s website or PC app:

    • Log in at https://www.capcut.com , go to Account Settings > Subscription, and check if re-enabling auto-renew is available at the previous price.

The pricing can differ between the mobile app and the desktop/web version of CapCut. If you're currently seeing the new price on your phone, try logging into your CapCut account on a computer's web browser and see if a different price is offered there for renewal.

3. Contact CapCut Support Directly:

If the above methods don't work, your best bet is to contact CapCut's customer support. Write an email to capcut.support@bytedance.com and explain your situation:

  • You are a long-time customer (about a year).
  • You had auto-renewal canceled.
  • Your current subscription is still active.
  • You want to re-enable auto-renewal at your previous price, but are only being offered a higher one.

Why this might be happening:

CapCut has increased its Pro subscription prices for new subscribers or those who let their subscriptions lapse. For existing users with active auto-renewal, they often "grandfather" them in at the old price.

When you canceled auto-renewal, you might have inadvertently removed your "grandfathered" status. The "Restore Subscription" option is designed to address this for previous subscribers.

Act before it expires:

  • Once your current subscription expires, it’s very unlikely you'll be able to return to the old price — you’ll be considered a “new” subscriber.

  • CapCut may offer loyalty retention only while you're still in an active billing period.
