Hello.I start using Capcut before maybe 10 days. And on Youtube i see lot of tutorials for program. Then i decide to buy Pro licence. But some thing missing and i notice on huge bug."I need to report a missing search bar in the Capcut program. When I go to Media --> Library in the program, there should be a search bar. I saw that everyone has it on YouTube. I even bought the premium version of the program, but it still doesn't appear. There is no magnifying glass icon, and there's no field to enter the name of something in that (Library). Additionally, since I don't use a mouse on my laptop, only a trackpad and keyboard, when I click the button I use to select in the search (Library) for videos, for example in Trending, Green Screen, Background, Intro and End, Transition, etc., that button doesn't keep the options as it should so I can scroll down. Instead, it works in the opposite way and resets the search results back."
Hi,
You have highlighted two distinct problems:
- Missing Search Bar in Media Library: Y
- You are not seeing the expected search bar (magnifying glass icon and input field) in the "Media --> Library" section, despite it being shown in tutorials and your having a Pro account.
- Trackpad/Keyboard Scrolling Bug:
- When you select categories like Trending, Green Screen, Background, etc., the list doesn’t stay open for scrolling.
- Instead, it resets or collapses the category.
Regarding the missing search bar, you are correct that a search function is a standard and expected feature in the Media Library of CapCut, especially for quickly finding specific assets.
Several other users have reported similar issues with features seemingly disappearing or changing in recent CapCut updates on the desktop version.
There's a possibility that this is a temporary bug or a change in the user interface in the version you are currently using. The Pro license primarily unlocks premium assets and advanced editing features, but core interface elements like a search bar should be present in both free and paid versions.
For the trackpad selection issue, this sounds like a potential conflict or bug related to how CapCut interacts with trackpad input for dropdown or category selections.
Standard behavior would be for the selected category's content to load and remain visible for scrolling.
The resetting behavior you're experiencing is not typical and suggests an issue within the program itself or possibly a specific interaction with your laptop's trackpad drivers.
Please try these steps first to rule out common causes:
- Check for Latest Version
- Go to the CapCut PC app.
- Click the Menu (≡) > Settings or About > Check for Updates.
- Install the latest version if available.
- Change Resolution or Window Size
- Try maximizing the CapCut window or adjusting the display scaling (especially if using high-resolution screen or zoomed UI).
- Some UI elements like the search bar may be hidden if the screen resolution is low or zoomed in.
- Try a Clean Install
- If you already reinstalled CapCut
- Before reinstalling again, first log into your CapCut account to save your projects.
- Fully uninstall CapCut → then reinstall from the official CapCut website.
- Check CapCut's Web Version: While not a direct solution for the desktop program, you could check the web version of CapCut (if available in your region) to see if the search bar is present in its media library. This might give you an idea if the issue is specific to the desktop application.
- Adjust Trackpad Settings: While less likely to resolve a program-specific bug, you could briefly check your laptop's trackpad settings in your operating system to ensure there are no unusual configurations that might interfere with application interactions.
Here is how to report it directly to CapCut developers:
In-App Feedback
-
Open CapCut on PC.
-
Click the ≡ (menu) icon on the top right.
-
Choose "Feedback".
-
Fill in your issue (you can paste your message).
-
Attach screenshots or a short screen recording showing the missing search bar and the bug with scrolling.
- write an email: [email protected]
Workaround Suggestion for Now
Until this is fixed:
-
Try using an external mouse, if possible, to test if the scrolling works as expected.
-
You can manually browse by clicking categories under Library > Media, though slower without search.
-
Alternatively, download overlays and green screen content from online sources and import them manually into CapCut.
