Hi,

You are having an issue in CapCut non-Pro version, where an "invisible" Pro feature like "Photo Slinky" prevents export.

Here is how you can solve the problem of "Photo Slinky" in CapCut without Pro:

1. Check and Remove "Photo Slinky" Effect:

  • Go to Video Effects: Even if you didn't consciously add "Photo Slinky," it might be lurking in your effects. Go through your video clips and check the "Effects" section. Look for "Photo Slinky" and disable or delete it if you find it.
  • Check other "Pro" effects/features: Sometimes, even a seemingly minor effect or https://www.capeditcut.com/community/capcut-pro/how-to-remove-pro-features-error-when-exporting-the-video-on-capcut /">transition might be a "Pro" feature in disguise. Go through all your applied effects, transitions, filters, and even text animations. If there's a "Pro" badge on any of them, you'll need to remove or replace it with a free alternative.

2. Deselect Clips and Check Filters/Effects:

  • Deselect everything: Tap away from your video clips on the timeline to deselect everything.
  • Check Filters/Effects: Then, tap on the "Filters" or "Effects" icon at the bottom of the screen. Sometimes, an effect might be applied to the whole project or an invisible layer. Look for any active effects or filters, especially ones that might have a "Pro" tag, and remove them.

3. Clear Cache and Data:

  • If you're on mobile, corrupted app data can sometimes cause these issues.
    • Android: Go to Settings > Apps > CapCut > Storage. Then choose "Clear Data" or "Clear Cache."
    • iOS: Go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage. Find CapCut and tap "Delete App" (this will delete your app data, so make sure to back up projects if possible, though usually projects are saved to the cloud). Reinstall the app afterward.

4. Update CapCut:

  • Ensure you have the latest version of CapCut installed. Developers often release updates to fix bugs and glitches, and this might include resolving the "Photo Slinky" export issue. Try using the latest beta version to see if that fixes this particular bug.

5. Workaround: Record Your Screen:

  • If none of the above work and you desperately need to export your video, a workaround is to play your video in full-screen preview within CapCut and record your screen using your phone's built-in screen recorder or a third-party app (like OBS for PC). While not ideal for quality control, it's a way to get your video out.

Fix “Photo Slinky” in CapCut free version:

Step 1: Check for Default Animation

CapCut auto-applies in or out animations (like "Slide In", "Swing", etc.) to photos when imported.

  1. Tap/Click on the photo on your timeline.

  2. Look for the “Animation” tab (appears in the bottom menu).

  3. Tap “In” and “Out” animations.

  4. If any animation is applied, set both to "None".

Step 2: Remove or Change Default Motion Effects

Some CapCut versions auto-add a Ken Burns-style pan/zoom effect to images.

  1. Select the photo.

  2. Check the “Style” or “Motion” section (or long press on the photo).

  3. If there’s any zoom or motion effect, disable or reset it.

Step 3: Adjust Duration and Format

  • If the photo duration is too short (less than 1s), some glitches like "slinky" can occur. Try extending the duration slightly.

  • Make sure your export settings (resolution, frame rate) match your project settings.

Step 4: Check for Filters or Overlays

  • Some filters or overlay templates may add unwanted transitions.

  • Remove any templates, overlay effects, or adjust the filter intensity.

Pro Tip:

If nothing works, try this quick workaround:

  • Export the photo-only part separately as a video clip without effects.

  • Re-import that exported video into a new project and finish editing.

Important Notes:

  • CapCut's "Pro" features can be tricky: CapCut has been https://www.capeditcut.com/community/capcut-pro/too-many-features-becoming-pro-one-by-one /">increasingly pushing its Pro subscription, and sometimes features that were previously free might become Pro-only. This can lead to unexpected export issues if you're using an older project or accidentally applied a newly designated Pro feature.
  • The "Photo Slinky" bug is known: Many users have reported this specific "Photo Slinky" bug as a phantom Pro feature that prevents export, even when they haven't explicitly added it. This points to a potential software glitch.

Hopefully, one of these solutions helps you remove the "Photo Slinky" problem and successfully export your video.
