Hi,

I am on capcut free version and at the time of export it is showing that I have used a pro feature and hence not letting me export. I do not know which pro feature I have used, may be unknowingly I might have used one. Now I do not exactly know what is that and I need to remove. How do I identify and remove the pro feature so that I can continue to export as a free user?

Thanks for the support.

Hi,

If you try to export a video and encounter problem stating you are using a Pro feature that means you have added some effect or filter which was marked as PRO.

Now that you have already done the editing it will not let you export unless you buy PRO or remove the PRO feature from your edits.

To resolve this and ensure your project is exportable, follow these steps:

Identify the Pro features in your project:

Once you have added any PRO feature, you will see the "PRO" icon on the top of the screen (see image below):

look for the pro icon on the top 67bad90b18e97
  • Review applied effects and tools: CapCut's free version restricts certain features, such as advanced effects, premium filters, and AI tools. If you have used any of these, they are likely Pro features. (see below image)

  • Check for watermarks: Some Pro features may add watermarks to your video. If your project includes a watermark, it indicates the use of a Pro feature.

    • Look for Pro Icons: Within the CapCut editing interface, Pro features are usually marked with a diamond icon or a crown icon or simply mentioned as "PRO". These icons are typically displayed next to the feature name or thumbnail.
    • Review each section: Systematically go through each section of your project and look for these Pro icons:
      • Effects: Check the "Effects" tab and look for diamond/crown icons on effect thumbnails.
      • Filters: In the "Filters" section, scan for Pro icons on filter options.
      • Transitions: If you've added transitions between clips, review the "Transitions" tab for any Pro-marked transitions.
      • Stickers: Examine the "Stickers" library for stickers with Pro icons.
      • Text Templates: If you've used text templates, check the "Text" section for Pro templates.
      • Music and Sound Effects: While less common, some music or sound effects in the library might be Pro-exclusive. Check for any Pro indicators if you've added audio.
      • Canvas & Background: Some advanced canvas styles or background options could be Pro features.

Remove Pro features:

      • Replace the premium effects
        • Once you've identified a Pro feature in your timeline (e.g., a Pro effect applied to a clip), select that element in your project.
        • If the Pro feature is not essential, you can simply delete it. For example, if it's a Pro effect, select the clip with the effect and remove the effect.
        • If you want a similar effect but free, browse the "Effects," "Filters," "Transitions," "Stickers," or "Text" sections again, but this time choose options that do not have the diamond/crown icon. CapCut offers a wide range of free features that you can use as alternatives.

    •

Verify project compatibility:

  • Preview the project: Before attempting to export, preview your project to ensure all Pro features have been removed and the video plays as intended.

Export the video:

    • Initiate export: Once you have ensured the project is free of Pro features, proceed to export your video.
    • Select export settings: Choose your desired resolution and format, then confirm the export.

Important points to note:

  • While basic adjustments are free, some advanced "Adjust" options will be Pro.
  • Certain advanced masking features will most likely be Pro.
  • If you are using green screen effects, ensure the specific chroma key feature isn't Pro.

By removing all Pro features from your project, you should be able to export your video without encountering restrictions.

@admin CapCut keeps auto-reframing my videos when I fix grammar errors in auto captions. Automatic auto-reframing makes it impossible to download as it requires a PRO version. I did not ask for auto-reframing. How can I avoid it?

Hi,

CapCut’s auto-reframing sometimes gets triggered unintentionally, especially during edits like fixing grammar in auto-captions. Since auto-reframing requires a Pro subscription to export, here is how you can avoid it:

Don’t tap “Edit for TikTok” or similar templates

If you used a preset like “Edit for TikTok” or selected a smart template that uses auto-reframing, that’s often the trigger. Avoid those options when starting your project.

Manually turn off auto-reframe

If auto-reframing has been enabled, you can manually turn it off:

On CapCut PC:

  1. Select your video clip in the timeline.

  2. Go to the "Video" tab (on the right panel).

  3. Look for "Auto Reframe" (or "Smart Tracking").

  4. If it's turned on, click it and choose "Off" or remove the tracking.

On CapCut Mobile:

  1. Tap the video clip in your timeline.

  2. Tap on “Edit” > “Style” or “Tracking” (depending on the version).

  3. If you see Auto Reframe, disable or remove it.

Delete auto-reframe layer

Sometimes CapCut adds auto-reframe as a layer on the timeline:

  • Look in the track layers (above your main clip) for anything labeled “Auto Reframe” or “Smart Resize.”

  • Tap and delete that layer.

Avoid this common trigger:

When editing auto-captions, CapCut might interpret your edits as a need to optimize for vertical format, especially if the video is in landscape. This can trigger reframing.

To prevent this:

  • Lock aspect ratio to your original (e.g., 16:9) before generating captions.

  • Avoid clicking any “Smart Edit,” “Reframe for Vertical,” or AI suggestions pop-ups that may appear.

Other workarounds

If you can’t turn off auto-reframe:

  1. Export the video with a watermark, then

  2. Re-import it into a new CapCut project.

  3. Remove the watermark area (if not overlaid) or crop/re-edit manually.

I have a similar problem. For me I specifically did not use any pro features and I also double checked every section, so that I did not accidentally choose a pro feature. I created a video of 3 clips and when exporting I get the same error: You are using a pro feature: Photo Slinky

I can't find the feature and don't know what to do at this point. (using Capcut on Macbook)

Hi,

You are encountering an export error in CapCut on your MacBook because you've used a "Pro feature" called "Photo Slinky." Here's how to address this:

Understanding "Photo Slinky" and Pro Features:

  • Photo Slinky: This is a specific effect or template in CapCut that creates a dynamic, usually 3D-like, animation for photos. It's found under "Effects" or "Templates" within CapCut.
  • Pro Feature: CapCut offers both free and paid (Pro) features. Many advanced effects, transitions, AI tools, and higher export resolutions (like 4K) are exclusive to CapCut Pro. When you see this error, it means you've used something that requires a Pro subscription.

What to Do:

Since you can't find the feature and are getting the error, here's a step-by-step approach:

  1. Identify the "Photo Slinky" effect in your project:

    • Go back into your CapCut project.
    • Carefully review each clip and layer in your timeline. Look for any effects, transitions, or templates applied to your photos that might be causing the "slinky" animation.
    • How to spot Pro features: Pro features have a small crown icon or a "Pro" label next to them in the CapCut interface (effects, transitions, filters, text styles, etc.). This is your primary indicator.
    • Specifically, look in the "Effects" or "Templates" section if you recall applying something like that. It might have been an auto-applied effect if you used a template.
  2. Remove or Replace the Pro Feature:

    • Once you've identified the element causing the error (the "Photo Slinky" effect), select it on your timeline.
    • Delete it: The simplest solution is to delete the problematic effect/template.
    • Replace with a free alternative: If you still want a similar dynamic effect, explore the free effects and transitions offered by CapCut. While they might not be identical, you can often find creative ways to achieve a similar visual style using multiple free tools.
  3. Consider CapCut Pro (Optional):

    • If the "Photo Slinky" effect is crucial to your vision and you can't achieve it with free alternatives, you might consider subscribing to CapCut Pro. This will unlock all premium features and allow you to export your project without the error.
  4. Check for Residual Effects:

    • Sometimes, even after deleting a Pro feature, the error might persist if a remnant of it is still embedded. Double-check your entire project for any lingering Pro effects.

Troubleshooting Tips:

  • Undo History: If you recently added something and the error appeared, use the "Undo" function (Cmd+Z on Mac) to revert to a state before the Pro feature was added.
  • Start a New Project: If you're really stuck, as a last resort, try creating a new project and importing your media. Then, carefully rebuild your edit, avoiding any features marked "Pro."
  • Update CapCut: Ensure your CapCut application is up to date. Sometimes, bugs or changes in feature classifications can occur in older versions.

By systematically reviewing your project for features marked "Pro" and removing or replacing the "Photo Slinky" effect, you should be able to resolve the export error.
