My Capcut is crashing during exporting the video. Every time it reaches 10% mark of export it quits the whole app. I have reinstalled it twice. It is the latest version and paid subscription. I have Dell Alienware laptop with 16GB RAM and I7-12700h Processor. I am looking for urgent support.

Hi Birendra,

That sounds frustrating, especially since you’re running a strong system. CapCut crashing during export (stuck at ~10%) usually points to one of a few things: corrupted cache/project files, GPU driver conflicts, or certain effects/codecs causing the render to fail. Let’s try narrowing it down step by step:

Quick fixes to try first

  1. Clear cache:

    • Open CapCut → Settings → Clear cache.

    • Restart CapCut and retry export.

  2. Change export settings:

    • Lower the export resolution/bitrate (e.g., try 1080p instead of 4K).

    • Disable Hardware Acceleration in CapCut settings (or enable it if it’s off). Sometimes Intel/NVIDIA GPUs conflict during rendering.

  3. Check GPU drivers:

    • Update both Intel integrated graphics and NVIDIA GPU drivers via Intel Driver & Support Assistant + NVIDIA GeForce Experience.

    • If CapCut is set to use the wrong GPU, force it:

      • Right-click desktop → NVIDIA Control Panel → Manage 3D Settings → Program Settings → Add CapCut → Select "High-performance NVIDIA processor".

  4. Export small test clip:

    • Duplicate your project → trim it to 10–20 seconds → export.

    • If the short version works, the crash might be tied to a specific effect, filter, or asset in the full timeline.

Deeper fixes

  • Project file corruption:

    • Save your project → start a new project → import your existing project as media (if possible) → re-export.

  • Check storage:

    • Ensure your export drive (usually C:) has at least 20–30 GB free.

    • If you’re exporting to an external HDD/SSD, try saving directly to internal SSD instead.

  • Disable background apps:

    • Some overlays (e.g., Discord, Overwolf, or antivirus real-time scanning) can crash CapCut during heavy GPU encoding. Try exporting with minimal apps running.

  • Try older version:

    • Sometimes the latest CapCut version introduces export bugs. You can temporarily install an older stable build (you can download older version from here or via MS Store rollback).

Since you are on an Alienware i7-12700H + 16GB RAM, hardware is not the bottleneck this is almost certainly a CapCut software + driver compatibility issue.

To move faster:
Can you tell us whether you’re exporting in H.264 or H.265 (HEVC) and at what resolution/bitrate? That will help us suggest the exact setting change that usually bypasses the 10% crash.

i have updated the app already, I’m using iPhone 8plus of 256gb storage with close to 50gb still available on my phone.

Hi,

We understnad your concern. Please try this below step-by-step method to export your full CapCut project on iPhone 8 Plus without crashing, even if it’s long and heavy.

Step 1: Prepare your project

  1. Duplicate the project in CapCut to keep the original safe.

    • Open the project → Tap the three dots → Duplicate.

  2. Check timeline length & heavy effects

    • Look for AI filters, particle effects, blur, or high-res overlays.

    • Temporarily disable or simplify them for export.

Step 2: Reduce export load

  1. Set lower resolution & frame rate:

    • Tap Export → Resolution → 1080p (or 720p if very long).

    • Frame rate → 30fps instead of 60fps.

  2. Optional: Reduce bitrate if CapCut allows (less compression stress on older phones).

Step 3: Free up resources

  1. Close all background apps (swipe up from bottom and remove running apps).

  2. Restart your iPhone before exporting to free RAM.

  3. Make sure at least 10–15GB free storage is available (you have ~50GB, so good).

Step 4: Split export for long projects

  • If your project is >3–5 minutes or has many effects:

    1. Split timeline into two halves → Export each separately.

    2. Re-import the exported halves into a new CapCut project → Merge → Export final video.

  • This avoids crashing on long/heavy exports.

Step 5: Export

  1. Tap Export → Save → Wait patiently.

  2. If it crashes again:

    • Try turning off AI effects, stickers, or animations temporarily.

    • Export again, then re-add effects in a final merge stage.

Extra tips

  • Avoid exporting directly to social media during heavy projects; export to Camera Roll first.

  • Keep your iPhone cool during export — overheating can trigger crashes.

  • For long-term workflow: Consider exporting in segments for any project over 5 minutes.
