Hi,

CapCut on Windows can crash like that, and it is because of memory or GPU issues rather than just a random bug.

Quick fixes to attempt:

These solve a lot of CapCut crashes immediately:

  • Restart CapCut + your PC
(clears RAM leaks that build up during editing)
  • Close heavy apps
    Chrome, Discord, games—anything eating RAM
  • Run CapCut as Administrator
    Right-click → Run as admin
  • Update CapCut
    Old versions crash more often

If it’s a Memory crash which is most likely cause

CapCut can be surprisingly heavy.

Check your RAM

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc → Performance tab
  • If RAM usage is near 100% → that’s your crash

Fixes:

  • Lower video resolution (edit in 720p instead of 1080p/4K)
  • Remove heavy effects (blur, transitions, AI stuff)
  • Split your project into smaller parts

GPU issues which is another very common cause

CapCut relies on your graphics card.

Try this:

Clear CapCut cache (important)

Corrupted cache = constant crashing

Steps:

Last resort fixes to try if it’s still crashing

  • Reinstall CapCut completely
  • Install it on SSD (not HDD)
  • Make sure your Windows is updated

If your PC has:

  • 8GB RAM or less
  • Integrated graphics only

CapCut will struggle, especially with effects or longer videos.

Quick workaround so you can finish your Telegram video

If you’re stuck right now:

  • Export in chunks such as short clips
  • Or temporarily switch to something lighter like:
    • Shotcut
    • DaVinci Resolve (heavier but more stable)

Can you post these details as a reply to this thread:

  • Your RAM (e.g., 8GB / 16GB)
  • GPU (if you know it)
  • Video resolution you’re editing

We can study a little more as to why it’s crashing and give you a fix tailored to your setup.
