I can't seem to upload my custom fonts to the brandkit. I have several all in either otf or ttf format but get the same message every time. These fonts are also installed in windows.

Hi,

Thanks for the screenshot — the “Couldn’t upload” error in the CapCut Brand Kit when uploading .ttf or .otf fonts (even if they're installed on Windows) is a known issue for some users. Here's how you can troubleshoot and resolve it:

Common Issues and Solutions:

  1. Corrupted Font Files: Even if they work in Windows, the font files themselves might be corrupted or have specific internal issues that CapCut's uploader doesn't like.

    • Solution: Try downloading the font files again (from Google Fonts or the original source). If you have different versions of the same font (e.g., a bolder or italicized version), try uploading each individually.
    • Alternatively, test uploading a different font (like Arial or Roboto) to confirm whether the issue is file-specific.
  2. Zipped/Compressed Files: CapCut requires the raw .otf or .ttf file. If your fonts are in a .zip or other compressed archive, you'll need to extract them first.

    • Solution: Unzip any font archives before attempting to upload. Make sure you're selecting the actual font file (e.g., myfont.ttf or myfont.otf) and not the entire unzipped folder.
  3. Specific Font File Naming or Metadata: Sometimes, certain characters in font filenames or inconsistencies in the font's internal metadata can cause issues.

    • Solution:
      • Try renaming the font file to something very simple, like fontname.ttf or MyFont-Regular.ttf.
      • Avoid special characters or long names.
      • Try changing the file extension casing (e.g., from .TTF to .ttf or vice versa), though this is less common.
  4. Convert the Font:

Some fonts may have unusual internal formats.

  5. Use CapCut Web Instead of Desktop

The desktop version sometimes struggles with Brand Kit uploads.

    • Go to CapCut Web and try uploading your fonts there.

  6. CapCut App/Software Glitches: CapCut, like any software, can experience temporary bugs or glitches.

    • Solution:
      • Restart CapCut: Close the CapCut application completely and reopen it.
      • Clear Cache: If you're using the CapCut desktop app, look for an option to clear the application's cache. This can often resolve minor issues.
        • Windows:
          • Close CapCut.
          • Press Windows + R, type %appdata% and press Enter.
          • Locate and delete the CapCut folder (optional: backup your projects first).
          • Restart CapCut and try again.
      • Update CapCut: Ensure you have the latest version of CapCut installed. Developers often release updates to fix bugs and improve compatibility.
      • Reinstall CapCut: As a last resort, consider uninstalling and reinstalling CapCut. This can resolve deeper software conflicts.
  7. Internet Connection Issues: While less likely for local file uploads, a poor or unstable internet connection could potentially interfere with the Brand Kit's syncing or uploading process, especially if it relies on cloud storage.

    • Solution: Ensure you have a stable internet connection.
  8. Unsupported Font Features/Encoding: While OTF and TTF are generally supported, some fonts might have advanced OpenType features or unusual encoding that CapCut doesn't fully recognize.

    • Solution: If you have an alternative version of the font or a similar font from a different source, try that. There isn't a direct fix for this if it's a compatibility issue with the font's internal structure.
  9. CapCut Server Issues (for online/cloud sync): Brand Kit relies on CapCut's servers for storing your custom fonts, temporary server issues could prevent uploads.

    • Solution: Check CapCut's social media or support channels for any reported outages. Try again later.

Steps to Upload Fonts to CapCut's Brand Kit:

  1. Open CapCut: Launch the CapCut desktop application.
  2. Go to "My Space" or "Brand Kit":
    • On the home screen, look for an option like "My Space" or directly "Brand Kit" (the exact location might vary slightly with updates).
  3. Navigate to "Fonts": Within the Brand Kit section, you should find a "Fonts" tab or section.
  4. Click "Upload Brand Fonts" or a similar button: This will open a file browser.
  5. Select your .otf or .ttf file: Choose the individual font file you want to upload.
  6. Wait for upload: CapCut will attempt to upload the font.

Since you're getting a "same message every time," try to pay close attention to the exact wording of the error message. This can provide valuable clues about what's going wrong.

@admin Sorry guys, but this issue isn't sorted out. Nobody confirmed to you that your answers worked. This is the second week that this issue has continued to bother us. We wouldn't be making any trouble if you had your fonts sorted out, at least alphabetically, or insert a search box so we can find our fonts when we work inside our project. The Brand Kit is the only place where we can set, define, and find a font; now, this also doesn't work.
Please just try to work on an imaginary project, using the font Comic Sans as an example. How will you find it, in order to use it?

Thank you for the understanding,
Petar
