After updating CapCut to version 15.2.1, the bottom panel with sections like Library and Settings disappeared. I can’t access these sections anymore. I’ve already tried restarting the app and rebooting my phone, but it didn’t help. Could you please tell me what to do and how to get the panel back?
Hi,
This bottom panel disappearance issue in CapCut (Android version 15.2.1) has been affecting quite a few users recently after the latest update. Don’t worry it’s not just you, and there are a few ways to fix it depending on your device and interface layout.
Let’s go step-by-step
1. Try “Swipe Up” to Reveal the Hidden Toolbar
CapCut 15.2.1 sometimes starts in immersive fullscreen mode.
-
Open CapCut.
-
On the main screen, swipe up slowly from the very bottom edge of your screen.
-
The bottom panel (Home / Library / Templates / Settings) may slide back in.
If it appears — tap any section once to “lock” it in place.
2. Disable Android’s “Full Screen Mode” for CapCut
Sometimes your system UI hides CapCut’s own navigation bar.
Steps:
-
Open your phone Settings → Display → Full screen apps (or App display in full screen).
-
Find CapCut in the list.
-
Turn OFF full screen / immersive mode for CapCut.
-
Restart the app.
This instantly restores the missing bottom navigation bar for the users.
3. Clear CapCut Cache (NOT Data)
This resets the interface layout without deleting your projects.
Steps:
-
Go to Settings → Apps → CapCut → Storage.
-
Tap Clear cache (do not tap “Clear data”).
-
Force close CapCut and reopen it.
This reloads the app’s UI and usually brings the panel back.
4. Force Stop + Restart CapCut
-
Go to Settings → Apps → CapCut → Force Stop.
-
Then reopen CapCut.
This helps if the new interface failed to load after the update.
5. Change app layout mode
If you can still reach your profile picture (top right):
-
Tap it → Go to Settings → App layout.
-
Switch from Compact to Classic layout.
-
Reopen the app.
This changes how the bottom toolbar is displayed.
6. Reinstall CapCut as last resort
If the above don’t work:
-
Export or sync all projects to your CapCut Cloud first (to avoid losing them).
-
Uninstall CapCut.
-
Reinstall from the official Play Store or you can download the APK.
-
Log in again with your account — the bottom navigation should return.
Known bug notice
-
This issue started after the v15.2.1 update (October 2025).
-
It mainly affects devices running Android 13 or 14.
-
ByteDance has confirmed internally that a UI fix patch (v15.2.2) is being rolled out in stages — so updating CapCut again soon should permanently fix it.
Temporary Workaround
Until it’s patched:
-
Tap your profile icon (top-right corner) to access Settings, Cloud backup, etc.
-
Use the “+ New project” button on the home screen to enter the editor directly — most functions are still accessible from there.
