So I edited a video on capcut, and accidentally used a feature called audio extracting. Which is a standard feature on android that require a standard subscription plan.
So I tried to export it because I didn't know the feature needed subscription plan. But my card declined and other payment method failed.
But the problem is I somehow are able to export the video with the standard feature on. But I don't see any subscription plan on Google play, nor does capcut app show that I have capcut standard account.
So will I still get billed, even though I haven't filled my name for the payment
Hi,
You need to double-check this, because CapCut’s in-app purchase and subscription system can be a bit confusing, especially when it involves Google Play.
Here is what it means for you:
1. What “audio extracting” means
That’s a Standard plan feature on Android, which normally requires a paid CapCut subscription (called CapCut Standard or CapCut Pro, depending on your region). When you used it, the CapCut app would have prompted a Google Play purchase screen but since your card was declined, the purchase didn’t actually go through.
2. Why you could still export the video
CapCut sometimes allows temporary use or caching of premium features so you can preview or export before confirming payment. This doesn’t mean a subscription was created it just means the feature wasn’t blocked at that moment.
So even though you exported successfully, you were not charged, and no valid subscription was started.
3. How to double-check that no payment or subscription exists
Do the following:
On Google Play:
-
Open the Play Store app → Click on your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions
-
Check if there’s any active CapCut Standard / CapCut Pro subscription.
-
If nothing shows up → You are not subscribed.
-
-
Optionally check Payment methods → Payment history to confirm no CapCut charge went through.
Inside CapCut:
-
Open CapCut → Go to Me/Profile tab → Tap Manage Account / My Plan.
-
If it shows Free plan → No active subscription.
4. Will you be billed later?
No because Google Play can’t bill you without a valid payment method on file and an authorized subscription.
Since your payment failed and no plan appears under subscriptions, you will not be charged later.
CapCut can’t “retroactively” bill for something that never got approved through Play Store.
However, we strongly recommend you to check with CapCut team also once before confirming this understanding.
5. Why it still worked once
This occasionally happens due to:
-
Temporary trial unlock or caching (especially if you previously tested CapCut Pro/Standard)
-
Server-side lag in checking feature access
-
Or a bug where premium tools don’t immediately lock back down
But again you won’t be charged unless a valid payment authorization was completed.
So in short:
-
You are not billed.
-
You don’t have a subscription.
-
The export was allowed temporarily or by glitch.
-
No name/payment = no active billing agreement.
Below is a step-by-step guide to make absolutely sure you don’t have any hidden or pending CapCut charges through Google Play.
Step 1: Check your Google Play Subscriptions
-
Open the Google Play Store app on your Android phone.
-
Click on your profile picture (top right corner).
-
Select Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
-
Look carefully for anything like:
-
“CapCut Standard”
-
“CapCut Pro”
-
“Bytedance Pte. Ltd.” (CapCut’s developer)
-
-
If you see no active subscriptions → You’re 100% clear.
Step 2: Check your Payment history
-
In the same Payments & subscriptions menu, tap Budget & history or Payment history.
(Some phones show it as “Payment history” directly.) -
You’ll see a list of all purchases made via your Google account.
-
Look for any entries like:
-
“CapCut Standard monthly plan”
-
“CapCut Pro – Bytedance Pte. Ltd.”
-
Anything with a small clock icon means “pending authorization”
-
-
If you don’t see such an entry — you have no charge at all.
Step 3: Double-check from a browser (optional, for peace of mind)
-
Go to https://play.google.com/subscriptions
Sign in with the same Google account used on your phone. -
This shows all active, expired, and canceled subscriptions.
-
If it’s empty → You are not subscribed.
-
-
Then visit https://play.google.com/account/payments
→ Click “Subscriptions and services” or “Orders.”
→ You’ll see any successful or failed attempts.
Step 4: Check for pre-authorizations or pending holds
If your card was declined or you tried multiple payment methods:
-
Some banks show a temporary “authorization attempt” for $0.01.
-
These disappear automatically within a few days they are not charges.
You can confirm this in your bank app or by contacting your bank’s support.
