Hi,

You are using CapCut Pro, and the “Uniform Scale” option is missing while editing your video. Let us go through what’s happening and how to fix it:

What “Uniform Scale” does?

The Uniform Scale toggle (found under the “Transform” section in CapCut PC or Web) ensures that when you resize a clip, its width and height scale proportionally — maintaining aspect ratio.

Why “Uniform Scale” might be missing?

It can be due to possible causes depending on your platform:

CapCut for PC (Windows or Mac)

  1. New Update UI Change

    • CapCut’s latest versions (since mid-2025) have merged “Uniform Scale” into the Scale slider directly.

    • Instead of a separate toggle, scaling now defaults to uniform unless you manually unlock the aspect ratio by dragging edges on the preview canvas.

  2. You are in the “Crop” or “Canvas” Section

    • The “Uniform Scale” toggle only appears (or applies) when adjusting Transform > Scale and not in Crop, Canvas, or Animation tabs.

  3. Image or Text layers instead of Video Clips

    • Some asset types (stickers, text, imported PNGs) no longer show “Uniform Scale”, as they are natively locked to proportional resizing.

  4. Outdated Version or Project Bug

    • If you recently updated or imported an older project, the UI sometimes hides old toggles. Restarting CapCut or recreating the project usually restores full functionality.

How to fix or work around it?

Option 1: Use Shift-Drag to Scale Proportionally

  • Click your clip on the preview canvas.

  • Hold Shift while dragging a corner — this performs uniform scaling even if the toggle is gone.

Option 2: Reset the Transform Panel

  • Select the clip → Go to Video > Basic > Transform.

  • Look for “Scale” — drag it up/down to resize uniformly.

  • If “Uniform Scale” still doesn’t appear, click the Reset icon beside Transform to refresh the section.

Option 3: Force Refresh CapCut

  1. Save your project.

  2. Go to Settings → Version → Check for Updates.

  3. Restart CapCut.
(The new UI hides the toggle, but scaling is automatically uniform unless you resize freely on canvas.)

Option 4: Use Numeric Input for Precise Scaling

  • In the Scale box, type a value like 110%.

  • This ensures perfect uniform scaling without relying on the toggle.

The “Uniform Scale” option has been removed or auto-merged in the latest CapCut Pro updates.

  • Uniform scaling is now the default behavior — no need to toggle it on.
  • Hold Shift or use the Scale slider for precise proportional resizing.
