Hi,

The issue you are facing (“Could not apply, try again later” during Lip Sync in CapCut Pro on both Mac and iPhone) despite reinstalling, downgrading, and trying older successful files strongly suggests it is not a local app bug, but a server-side issue with CapCut’s AI Lip Sync service (the feature depends on cloud processing).

Below we present the most likely causes and fixes, based on current (October 2025) CapCut  reports:

1. Temporary CapCut AI Server Issue

CapCut’s Lip Sync, Auto Captions, and AI Character tools use TikTok/ByteDance’s cloud AI servers.

When these are under maintenance or overloaded, Lip Sync often stops at 40–60% and fails with “try again later.”

Fix / Check:

  • Wait a few hours and try again — often it resolves within 12–24 hours.

  • Try again during off-peak hours (early morning local time).

  • If available, try a different network (Wi-Fi → mobile hotspot or vice versa). Sometimes network routing affects access to AI servers.

2. Account Region or Credit Verification Glitch

Even if your credits show and are usable, a desync can happen between the CapCut Pro subscription and AI feature access (especially if you renewed recently or changed region).

Try this:

  1. On your phone → open CapCut › Profile › Settings › Account › Log out

  2. Re-log in with the same account (Pro one).

  3. Open any project → use a simple 5-sec clip → apply Lip Sync again.

  4. If it still fails:

    • Go to Settings › Feedback › Report a Problem

    • Include this text:

Lip Sync stops at 40–50% and fails with “Could not apply, try again later.” Happens on both Mac and iPhone using the same Pro account. Credits are active.

CapCut team re-syncs your AI access manually within 24 hrs after such a ticket.

3. Corrupted Local Cache

Even after reinstalling, leftover cached models or partial downloads may block the feature.

Try this clean-start method:

  • On iPhone: Settings › General › iPhone Storage › CapCut › Offload App → then reinstall.

  • On Mac: Delete ~/Library/Application Support/CapCut before reinstalling.
Then restart and try a short clip again.

4. File-Format Limitation

Recent CapCut builds (7.x desktop, 15.x mobile) are stricter with Lip Sync inputs:

  • Audio must be clear human voice, 16-bit, ≤ 48 kHz WAV/MP3.

  • Clips longer than 60 seconds can cause silent failure.

  • If you have added effects or speed changes, try exporting the voice track alone and testing that.

5. App Version Compatibility

Sometimes Lip Sync fails when the mobile and desktop versions use different AI models.

Working combinations as of Oct 2025:

  • CapCut Desktop 7.3.0 → Lip Sync broken (confirmed bug)

  • CapCut Desktop 7.2.2 → Lip Sync working

  • CapCut Mobile 15.1.0 → Lip Sync working

Just download a prior copy of CapCut which are stable working builds (Mac and iPhone). You can find some of the older versions on our website itself.

What to try (in order):

  1. Try again after 12 hours with a stable connection.

  2. Log out/in of your CapCut Pro account on both devices.

  3. Clear cache / delete local CapCut data.

  4. Test with a short 10-sec voice clip.

  5. If still failing → submit Feedback > Report a Problem with screenshots and note that it fails on multiple devices.

  6. You can also email your problem to [email protected] for a dedicated support since you are a PRO user.

Here are recommended steps:

  1. On your Mac and iPhone, check your current CapCut version (in “About” or App store).

  2. Try downloading older builds.

  3. Try a conservative downgrade to one of the slightly older stable builds, just in case the latest has introduced a regression.

  4. After downgrade/installation:

    • Log out and log back in (to refresh account/feature state).

    • Try a very short clip (5-10 seconds) with clear audio & see if Lip Sync completes to 100%.

  5. If still failing, submit a support ticket with CapCut: mention your account is Pro, credits show, issue happens across devices, Lip Sync stops at ~40-50%. Provide screenshots/version numbers.

  6. As a workaround: If you are under a deadline, you might try an alternate tool (for Lip Sync) just for the time being and then re-import the video into CapCut, until CapCut resolves the issue.
