I had a pro account I discontinued for 6 months. Decided to renew it. When I did, somehow, it created a second account with a second user name, workspace, etc. But it has all my previous projects still in it. Now I have 2 accounts with the same projects -- one is a free account and one is pro. How do I fix it?

Hi,

CapCut sometimes auto-creates a second account if you log in with a different method than before (email vs. phone vs. Apple ID vs. Google, etc.). That’s why you’re seeing two accounts:

  • Account A (old one) → previously Pro, now free.

  • Account B (new one) → Pro subscription active, but looks like a fresh workspace, yet you still see projects (likely synced because CapCut cloud ties them to device cache as well).

Here’s how you can fix it:

1. Confirm which login belongs to your real Pro subscription

  • Go to Profile > Settings > Manage Account in CapCut.

  • Check under Subscriptions which account actually has the Pro plan linked.

  • Note the login method (Apple, Google, TikTok, email, etc.).

2. Make sure both accounts are identified

  • Log out of both.

  • Log back in one at a time using the different login methods you might have used.

  • Write down which one is Free and which one is Pro.

3. Choose the one you want to keep

  • If you want to keep Pro:

    • Stick with the login that shows your subscription.

    • Reimport or sync your projects if some are missing (many will still be in CapCut Cloud, check under Cloud Backup in settings).

  • If you want to keep the old account (where you started):

4. Contact CapCut support to merge (best option)

CapCut does not let you merge accounts inside the app. But if you contact CapCut Support (via app: Profile → Settings → Feedback & Help → Report a problem or by writing an email to [email protected]), explain:

I accidentally created a second account while renewing Pro. My subscription is under [Account B], but I need it moved to [Account A] where my projects are.

They can usually transfer your subscription to the correct account, though it might take a few days.

In short:

  • Double-check which login has Pro.

  • Use only that login going forward.

  • If your projects don’t line up perfectly, contact CapCut support and ask them to transfer your subscription to the correct account.
