Hi! We are planning to avail advanced features from Capcut. But we have questions prior to the purchase of the service:

1. We notice 'Standard" and "Pro" plans. What's the difference of the two and what are the plan options?

2. How many devices can we simultaneously use for the subscribed account?

Hi,

Below is a breakdown of CapCut’s Standard vs Pro plans and device-usage, with highlights and caveats to help you make the purchase.

1. Standard vs Pro plans

What they include & how they differ

  • The “Standard” plan is positioned as a more affordable tier, typically for mobile-only editing and fewer “extras” as compared to the free plan.

  • The “Pro” plan (sometimes called Pro or “mobile + desktop/web” tier) unlocks more advanced features: higher export resolution (4K or beyond), access to premium effects/transitions, larger cloud storage, cross-platform support (desktop + web + mobile) in many cases.

  • Main features for the Pro version:

    • No watermark on exports.

    • Advanced editing tools (keyframe, masking, chroma key) and AI-tools.

    • Support for high resolution exports (4K, HDR) and access to a richer library of effects, sounds etc.

  • Pricing: the exact numbers vary by region and platform (mobile vs desktop, iOS vs Android). Below is the current standard pricing which is subject to vary depending on tax and local fees. Make sure to see the final pricing on the check-out page:

    • Standard Plan: US$9.99/month or US$89.99/year (for mobile only).

    • Pro Plan: US$19.99/month or US$179.99/year (for mobile+desktop+web).

  • Usage context: If you're editing casually on mobile/social media, Standard may suffice. If you are producing more professional content, using desktop/web, working at higher resolution, then Pro is more appropriate.

Plan options

  • Standard: mobile only, fewer premium features.

  • Pro: mobile + desktop/web, full feature set, higher export/resolution, more storage/resources.

  • Teams” or “Enterprise” tier for collaboration or multiple seats.

  • The regional version may have slightly different pricing or features (taxes, local currency conversion).

2. How many devices can you simultaneously use with one subscribed account?

Below is the details about device usage:

  • A single account with a Pro subscription can be used on multiple devices by the same user (e.g., phone + tablet + PC) as long as you log into the same account.

  • There is no official limit stating “X devices simultaneously” so you can use it on multiple devices given that you have logged into the same account.

  • The subscription is intended for one person’s use across their devices, not necessarily for multiple different users sharing the account as long-term multi-seat users. Excessive simultaneous logins or frequent device switching may trigger security measures.

  • You can install and use the account on multiple devices (phone + laptop + desktop) for your own use, but if you are planning heavy simultaneous usage across many devices/users, there may be restrictions or risk of being flagged.

Summary for your scenario

Since you are planning to use “advanced features” (likely for serious editing):

  • If you do mobile only editing and don’t need desktop/web, the Standard plan might suffice (check local pricing).

  • If you want desktop/web + mobile, high resolution output, more storage, then go for the Pro plan.

  • Regarding devices: Yes you can use across your devices (phone + maybe laptop) under one account. But you should treat it as “one person’s account across devices” rather than “many people sharing many devices simultaneously”.

  • If you are a team (multiple users) then maybe look at “Teams” or “Enterprise” tier or check with CapCut support for multi-seat licensing.

Things to double-check before purchase

  • Confirm local pricing in the App Store / Play Store (including any regional promotions).

  • Confirm exactly what features are included in the Standard vs Pro as sometimes feature sets differ by region. You can do this once inside the app.

  • Check export resolution limits (Does Standard allow 4K or only 1080p in your region?).

  • Confirm device/platform coverage: If you edit on Windows/Mac + mobile, confirm that those are supported in your purchased plan.

  • Ensure you understand the “one user account” policy if you plan multiple people to use it.

  • Make use of the 7-day free trial for Pro features. This lets you to experience all the PRO features before you make the purchase.
