I had signed up for the free trial but cancelled it 2 days in, when the trial ended I was still charged and it took money from my account even though I had my subscription cancelled. I was requesting a refund hoping to get an email or an answer.
Hi,
You did the right thing by canceling during the trial, so ideally you shouldn’t have been charged. A few things to check and steps you can take:
1. Verify the cancellation
-
If you signed up via App Store (iPhone/iPad) or Google Play Store (Android), the cancellation needs to show in your Apple ID/Google Play subscriptions list.
-
If you signed up via CapCut (desktop or website), log in to your account → go to Settings > Subscriptions → check if it shows “Cancelled” with an end date.
2. Check the timing
-
Sometimes if you cancel less than 24 hours before the trial ends, Apple/Google may still process the payment.
3. Request a refund
-
Apple App Store: Apple’s refund page → log in → select the CapCut subscription → choose Request a refund → explain that you canceled during the trial.
-
Google Play Store: Open Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → CapCut → Report a problem → select Request refund.
-
CapCut (desktop/website purchases): You’ll need to contact CapCut/ByteDance customer support directly for payment related problems:
-
In CapCut app → Settings → Help → Report a problem.
-
Or email [email protected] with your account ID, payment receipt, and explain the cancellation timing.
-
4. Save proof
Keep screenshots showing your subscription cancellation date and the charge on your bank/credit card. That strengthens your refund request.
