The voice over (text-to-speech) isn't available for me in my own language, while it is for others. I am Dutch and I don't see any Dutch speakers. I do have my settings on Dutch. Please help as this is for work.
Hi,
We understand that it can be uncomfortable when a feature you depend on (especially for work) doesn’t work as expected. Let us troubleshoot this step-by-step and see how to get Dutch voices back or find a workaround for you.
Possible causes & solutions
There are a few common reasons why the Text-to-Speech / Voice-Over (TTS) feature in CapCut might not show your desired language, even if your settings are already in Dutch.
Here are things to try:
1. Check your region / locale / app version
-
Even though your language is set to Dutch, the region / country setting often determines which TTS voices are available. Some features or voices are gated by region.
-
So try changing your phone’s region (for example to the Netherlands) and then reinstalling CapCut.
-
Also, make sure your CapCut app is updated. Sometimes new voices are added but only in the latest version.
-
For a “beta” or “early access” version of CapCut, sometimes certain languages are available there first.
2. Verify TTS support for Dutch in CapCut
-
CapCut supports multiple languages for TTS.
-
But “multiple languages” doesn’t guarantee every language in every region or for every user at the same time; features are sometimes rolled out gradually.
-
It is difficult to confim that Dutch (Nederlands) is fully supported for TTS/voice-over in all regions as CapCut keeps updating its servers dynamically. It is possible that Dutch voices are not yet enabled in your region.
3. Clear cache / reinstall / reset app data
-
Sometimes leftover settings or data block new features from appearing:
-
Clear CapCut’s cache (in your phone settings → Apps → CapCut → Storage → Clear cache).
-
Force stop the app, then open it again.
-
If that doesn’t help, uninstall CapCut, change region as above, then reinstall fresh.
-
After reinstall, log in and check if Dutch voices appear.
-
4. Use a workaround: external TTS + import audio
If these steps don’t bring Dutch voices into CapCut, here’s a fallback you can use reliably:
-
Generate the Dutch voiceover using an external TTS service (many support Dutch, e.g. Narakeet, Google Cloud TTS, etc.)
-
For example, Narakeet supports Dutch voices.
-
-
Download the audio file (MP3, WAV, etc.)
-
Import the audio into your CapCut project
-
Sync / align the audio with your video text or captions
This gives you full control over which Dutch voice you want, and then CapCut is just used for mixing and editing.
