Hi,

Losing access to a voice you have consistently used like Ronald in CapCut’s TTS can disrupt your entire workflow, especially if it’s part of a continuing project.

Here is what might be going on and what you can do about it:

Why the "Ronald" voice is missing?

1. CapCut frequently updates its TTS voice library

  • Voices can get removed, renamed, or shifted to another category.

  • Sometimes voices that were free may now be moved to Pro or Teams only tiers.

2. Regional limitations

  • TTS voice availability varies by country. If your IP address or region setting changed (even slightly), it could affect your voice list.

  • VPN use or location change can trigger this.

3. Bug in the UI

  • CapCut has been having UI issues where not all voices load unless filters are applied, or app cache is cleared.

What You Can Do Right Now

1. Try these quick fixes first:

  • Restart CapCut and your device.

  • Clear CapCut cache:

    • On mobile: Profile → Settings → Clear Cache

    • On PC/Mac: Close the app, go to settings, and clear local cache if the option is available.

2. Search differently

Try using:

  • Search terms like Male, Narrator, or even Ron if available.

  • Look under different language settings – sometimes a voice is tagged under the wrong language.

3. Check your CapCut version

  • Update to the latest version — missing features often return in updates.

  • If you’re already on the latest version and the voice is gone, try downgrading to a version where you last used Ronald (works best on Android/Windows with APK or older installers).

4. Look inside “Favorites” or “Used voices”

  • If it's gone from your favorites, try “Recently Used” or “My Voices” section. Sometimes favorites reset but history remains.

5. Use CapCut Web or Phone App as Backup

  • Sometimes Ronald might still exist in CapCut Mobile or Web, even if it's gone on PC or Mac.

  • Upload your text there → generate the voice → export just the audio → import back into your main project.

6. Check for Filters

  • In some versions of CapCut, there are filters for the text-to-speech voices. Try looking for filters based on gender, age, or accent to see if the "Ronald" voice has been re-categorized.

7. Past projects as a workaround

  • Open a previous project that used the voice, you can still access and edit the text-to-speech audio. You will be able to copy the audio from an old project and paste it into your new one.

Alternative options if Ronald is gone forever

If it’s been officially removed, here are some backup voices in CapCut that sound similar:

Voice Name Description Similarity to Ronald
Kevin Neutral male, mid-pitch ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Dave Slightly robotic but clear ⭐⭐⭐
Josh Friendly narrator tone ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Narrator Formal and consistent ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Pro Tip: Backup Your TTS Voices

If you rely on specific TTS voices, it's always best to generate and export the audio clips separately, so you don't lose progress if the voice disappears.

Consider Third-Party TTS: If you absolutely need a specific voice and can't find it in CapCut, you might have to use a third-party text-to-speech generator and then import the audio file into your CapCut project.

There are many options available online, some of which are free. You will need to generate the audio, download it as an MP3 or similar file, and then import it into CapCut to sync it with your video.

Still need Ronald?

If this project is urgent and Ronald’s voice is critical:

  • Let us know your platform (Windows/Mac/iPhone/Android), and we can help:

    • Provide APK download links where Ronald still exists

    • Or find a CapCut Web link where you might still access it

Unfortunately, if the voice has been permanently removed, you may need to find a new voice that works for your project.
