Hi,

The transcript-based editing feature in CapCut's desktop application, especially since the previous navigation path through Menu > Layout seems to have changed. This feature has undergone interface updates, leading to some confusion. Here is how you can access it:

  • Import Your Video:

   - Open CapCut and start a new project.

   - Import your video file into the media library.

   - Drag and drop the video onto the timeline.

  • Access Transcript-Based Editing:

   - Click on the video clip in the timeline to select it.

   - Look for the "Transcript" button located at the top of the interface, near other editing tools.

It would be the "second farthest to the right" icon in that area. Take a close look at the icons above your timeline to see if you can spot it.

   - Clicking this button will generate a transcript of your video, allowing you to edit the video by modifying the text.

This updated method aligns with recent changes in CapCut's interface.

Watch this below YouTube tutorial for accessing transcript based video editing on CapCut:

Ensure your CapCut desktop is updated: Make sure you are running the latest version of CapCut desktop. Outdated versions might have different interfaces or lack newer features. Check for updates within the CapCut application itself, or by re-downloading from the official CapCut website.

If you continue to face issues accessing this feature, it's possible that your current version of CapCut may not support transcript-based editing, or the feature might be temporarily unavailable.

In such cases, consider using CapCut's free online transcript editor, which offers similar functionalities and can serve as an alternative solution.
