I have been using text presets in CapCut for a while now with a pro subscription and the free brand kit in my space. I just noticed the presets are gone when editing a video on Mobile. I wondered it that is now part of the Teams subscription, so I purchased that but they are still not there. Are text presets coming back to mobile or is there a place I can find them?

Hi,

CapCut has recently made changes to the availability of text presets in its mobile app, which has affected many users, including those with Pro and Teams subscriptions.

Where Did the Text Presets Go?

Text presets are now located under the "Templates" section. To access them:

  1. Open the CapCut mobile app.

  2. Navigate to the "Templates" tab.

  3. Scroll left from the "Trending" tab to find the text presets.

This change has led to confusion, as the presets are not in their previous location.

Troubleshooting Steps

If you're still unable to locate the text presets:

  • Update the App: The most common first step for any app issue is to ensure you have the absolute latest version of CapCut installed from your app store (Google Play Store for Android, App Store for iOS). Many users report that updating the app can resolve missing features or glitches.

  • Check for Profile Connection: Ensure CapCut profile is created and correctly linked to your TikTok account (if applicable). This can sometimes help with template/preset visibility.
  • Clear Cache: Clearing the app's cache can resolve display issues.

  • Use a VPN: Some features are region-specific. Using a VPN can help access features available in other regions.

  • Locate Them Differently:

    • After adding text: Try after adding a default text box, you need to select the text on the timeline, then look for options like "Effects" or "Text Template" by scrolling right or left in the bottom menu. The "Presets" button might be within one of those sections.
    • Within "Templates" (different from text presets): Try finding the presets within the broader "Templates" section by scrolling left from the "Trending" tab. However, these might be pre-designed video templates that include text, rather than your own custom text presets.
  • Try CapCut Online: The web version of CapCut may offer access to the text presets you're looking for.

  • Brand Kit/Spaces: You mentioned using the free brand kit in your space. CapCut's Brand Kit is designed to save reusable assets, including text presets. Double-check if your saved presets are still accessible within the "Brand Kit" section. Sometimes, the interface might shift how these are accessed.

Regarding your Pro and Teams subscriptions:

It's good that you tried both. While some features are indeed locked behind Pro or Teams, text presets are generally a core feature. Their disappearance, especially after having them with a Pro subscription, points more towards a software glitch or a change in interface/organization rather than a paywall.

Are they coming back?

It's hard to say definitively without an official statement from CapCut. However, given that text effects and customization are fundamental to video editing, it's highly likely they will remain a core feature, even if their location or implementation changes. If it's a bug, it's usually addressed in subsequent updates.

Recommendations

  • Check the "Templates" Tab: As mentioned, the presets might have been moved here.

  • Stay Updated: Keep an eye on CapCut's official announcements for any changes or updates regarding feature availability.

  • Provide Feedback: If the changes impact your workflow, consider reaching out to CapCut's support to express your concerns. Explain your situation thoroughly, including your subscription status and the steps you've already taken. They can provide specific guidance or confirm if there's a known issue.
