Hello, The Mac version doesn't have the search feature for Stickers , Transitions, Filters tabs or text tabs. That significantly slows down scrolling trying to find something while editing. I know that some of these search options exist in the Windows version. Would be appreciated to have them on the Mac version as well.
Hi,
You are absolutely right about this limitation.
The Mac version of CapCut is missing search bars in several key tabs such as:
-
Stickers
-
Transitions
-
Filters
-
Text (especially Effects/Style)
Whereas in the Windows version, some of these do include a search option, especially in the Stickers and Text tabs, making it much faster to locate assets.
Impact on workflow
This limitation on Mac:
-
Slows down editing, especially when you are working with large projects or are trying to match a specific effect or transition.
-
Creates inconsistency between platforms, which is frustrating for people using CapCut across both Mac and Windows.
Workarounds
Until CapCut adds this to Mac, here are a few practical suggestions:
-
Favorite frequently used assets: You can favorite Stickers, Filters, or Transitions (click the heart icon), then access them quickly via the “Favorites” section.
-
Use categories: Although slower, filters/stickers/transitions are at least grouped by category. This can slightly reduce scroll time.
-
Consider dual-platform use: If your workflow allows, browse/search assets on the Windows version, note the names/styles, and replicate on Mac (assuming they exist on both).
-
Tag your own assets: If you import custom assets like PNGs or GIFs, consider naming them with keywords in Finder so you can reuse them easily.
Another common workaround is to use the web version of CapCut to find and favorite the stickers, filters, or other assets you want. The web version has a more comprehensive search function. Once you've favorited them, you can then access them in your "Favorites" tab within the desktop app on your Mac.
CapCut hasn’t officially announced if or when they’ll bring full search capabilities to the Mac desktop app. But since many feature rollouts happen first on mobile or Windows, Mac often lags behind. Submitting feedback within the CapCut app (via "Help > Feedback") may help escalate the priority.
If this feature is critical for your workflow, you might want to keep CapCut for Windows handy via:

Or use Parallels (for ARM Macs) or Boot Camp (on Intel Macs)
