On my Android, I get more and better voices when I try to convert text to speech than on my PC. How can I get those voices for my PC in CapCut?
Hi,
It is great that you're enjoying the wider range of text-to-speech (TTS) voices on your Android device!
The reason you're getting more and better text-to-speech (TTS) voices on your Android device than on your PC is because Android often uses Google Text-to-Speech, which includes high-quality cloud-based voices—many of which are not directly available on Windows or in CapCut PC.
Unfortunately, directly transferring those specific Android voices to CapCut on your PC isn't possible. This is because:
- Platform-specific voices: The voices you hear on your Android are often built into the Android operating system or specific apps, utilizing their own TTS engines (like Google Text-to-Speech). These are optimized for mobile environments and aren't designed to be directly ported to desktop applications.
- CapCut's built-in voices: CapCut PC comes with its own set of built-in text-to-speech voices. While they may not be identical to your Android options, CapCut desktop does offer a variety of voices, including male, female, character voices, and different accents/languages.
Here’s how you can work around this and bring those high-quality Android voices to CapCut on your PC:
Option 1: Use Android to generate the TTS audio, then transfer it to your PC
-
On your Android device:
-
Open a text-to-speech app like Narrator’s Voice, Voice Aloud Reader, or even Google Translate (for short texts).
-
Choose your preferred voice and generate the speech.
-
Save or share the audio file (usually as
.mp3
or.wav
).
-
-
Transfer the file to your PC:
-
Use Google Drive, Dropbox, or email it to yourself.
-
Download the audio file on your PC.
-
-
Import into CapCut PC:
-
Open your project in CapCut.
-
Drag and drop the audio into your timeline.
-
This gives you the exact same high-quality voice on PC, just with a little extra step.
Option 2: Use Google's TTS voices via a web app on PC
Some websites and tools access Google’s TTS API or similar voices:
-
Try https://t2s.io/ (Text-to-Speech.io) or https://ttsmp3.com/
-
Paste your text and select a voice (many offer Google-like voices).
-
Download the audio file and import it into CapCut.
How to get more and better voices for CapCut on your PC:
Here are your options for enhancing your text-to-speech experience in CapCut on your PC:
-
Explore CapCut PC's built-in voices thoroughly:
- Add text to your timeline in CapCut.
- Select the text and navigate to the "Text-to-Speech" option (usually on the right-hand panel).
- Browse through all the available voices. CapCut regularly updates its voice library, and you might find some that suit your needs. They often categorize them by gender, style (e.g., energetic, chill), and language.
- Listen to previews of each voice to see how they sound with your text.
- CapCut Pro: If you have CapCut Pro, you will have access to a wider selection of premium voices.
-
Use third-party text-to-speech generators and import the audio: This is the most common and effective way to get a wider variety of high-quality, natural-sounding voices into CapCut PC. There are many excellent online and desktop TTS tools available. Here's the general workflow:
-
Choose a TTS service: Some popular and highly-rated options that offer realistic voices include:
- ElevenLabs: Known for its highly realistic and customizable AI voices. Many content creators use this in conjunction with CapCut.
- Murf.AI
- Synthesia
- Speechify
- NaturalReader
- Balabolka (free, Windows-specific)
- Online TTS tools: Many websites offer free text-to-speech conversion (though they often have character limits for free users). Search for "free online text to speech" to find options.
-
Generate your audio:
- Go to your chosen TTS service.
- Paste your script or type in the text you want to convert.
- Select the language, voice, and any other parameters (pitch, speed, emotion, etc.).
- Generate the audio file (usually in MP3 or WAV format).
-
Import into CapCut:
- Open your CapCut project.
- Go to the "Media" tab and click "Import" to bring the generated audio file into your project.
- Drag the audio file onto your timeline.
- Sync the audio with your video and make any necessary adjustments to volume, timing, or apply CapCut's audio effects.
-
While it's not a direct transfer, using a dedicated third-party TTS generator will give you access to a much broader and often higher-quality range of voices than what's natively available on either Android or CapCut PC alone.
Why you can't get these voices natively on PC CapCut
CapCut for PC uses a different TTS engine with fewer voice options. It doesn’t yet integrate Google’s advanced TTS or your Android system voices.
If you frequently do this…
Consider creating a “voice bank” of your commonly used phrases using your Android and storing them in a folder on your PC for quick access in CapCut.
