I am facing the same problem.
After installing capcut, I performed the installation and it doesn't ask to restart or anything like that, I just click to accept and it closes the installer.
The CapCut App remains on the desktop after clicking it does not open, it goes up in the task manager, but it disappears immediately.
I'm downloading it from the Microsoft Store and from the website itself, both still have the same problem.
I installed directX 11.
I updated my video driver and windows, specifications;
PROCESSOR: RYZEN 5 5600X
MEMORY: 16GB 3200
VIDEO CARD: RTX 3060 12GB
STORAGE: 500GB SSD
Hi,
Can you check out if the minimum requirements for CapCut PC is being met? Can you try uninstalling it from your system and try installing once again?
Hello.
I have the same problem - after installation on my PC nothing happens.
The system is higher than recommended.
I downloaded it from the site, from the MS store, or alternatively from the admin link.
I uninstalled it after installation, rebooted the PC, installed it again - it doesn’t start.
What do I need to do so that I can use the program?
Hi, I have the same Issue. Here the summary, of ocurse I've installed it and unisintalled it several times.
I am facing a persistent issue with CapCut not launching on my new HP Victus laptop. Despite the system being well-equipped with an 11th Gen Intel Core i5-11400H processor, 16 GB of RAM, and running the latest Windows 11 Pro (version 23H2, build 22631.3958), CapCut fails to start. The specific problems involve errors related to the ucrtbase.dll
file, with the exception code 0xc0000409
indicating a potential buffer overflow. Additionally, I've encountered a manifest conflict suggesting a version incompatibility between required components.
I've tried various troubleshooting steps, including system file checks (SFC), updating Microsoft Visual C++ redistributables, and utilizing the DISM tool, but none have resolved the issue. The application also throws a contextual activation error pointing towards deeper compatibility issues between component versions.
Has anyone experienced similar issues with CapCut on a similar system setup? Any suggestions or workarounds to get CapCut running would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Here is a comprehensive guide on troubleshooting CapCut opening issues on PC.
1. Basic Troubleshooting Steps:
- Restart Your PC: This is the oldest trick in the book for a reason. A simple restart can clear temporary glitches that might be preventing CapCut from launching fully. Try this first.
- Run as Administrator: Sometimes applications need elevated permissions to run correctly, especially after installation or updates.
- Right-click the CapCut shortcut or executable file.
- Select "Run as administrator".
- If it asks for permission, click "Yes".
- If this works, you can set it to always run as administrator: Right-click shortcut -> Properties -> Compatibility tab -> Check "Run this program as an administrator" -> Apply -> OK.
2. Reinstallation (The Clean Way):
A corrupted installation is a very common cause. Simply installing again might not fix it if old files are interfering.
- Uninstall CapCut Completely:
- Go to Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Find CapCut in the list, click the three dots (...) next to it, and select "Uninstall". Follow the prompts.
- Check for Leftover Folders (Important): After uninstalling, manually check these locations and delete any CapCut folders if they still exist:
C:\Program Files
(Look for a CapCut folder)C:\Users\[YourUsername]\AppData\Local
(Look for a CapCut folder)C:\Users\[YourUsername]\AppData\Roaming
(Look for a CapCut or ByteDance folder related to CapCut)- Note:
AppData
is hidden by default. You might need to enable "Show hidden items" in File Explorer's "View" tab.
- Restart Your PC Again.
- Temporarily Disable Antivirus (Optional but Recommended): Sometimes antivirus software can mistakenly interfere with the installation or first launch. Temporarily disable your antivirus/Windows Defender just before downloading and installing.
- Download the LATEST version: Download the latest installer for Windows. Don't use installers from third-party sites.
- Reinstall CapCut: Run the installer you just downloaded (consider running the installer itself "as administrator").
- Re-enable Your Antivirus: Don't forget this step!
- Try Launching CapCut Normally.
3. System and Driver Checks:
- Update Graphics Drivers: Video editing software relies heavily on the graphics card (GPU). Outdated or corrupt drivers are a frequent cause of launch failures.
- Identify your graphics card (NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel Integrated Graphics).
- Go to the manufacturer's official website (NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel) and download the latest drivers specifically for your card model and Windows 11.
- Install the new drivers and restart your PC.
- Check for Windows Updates: Ensure your Windows 11 is fully up-to-date. Sometimes CapCut relies on system components updated via Windows Update.
- Go to Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates. Install any pending updates and restart if required.
- Check System Requirements: Double-check that your PC definitely meets or exceeds CapCut's minimum requirements (CPU, RAM, GPU, available disk space). While you believe you meet them, it's worth verifying against the latest specs listed on their site.
Minimum System Requirements for CapCut PC (Windows):
- Operating System: Windows 7 / Windows 10 / Windows 11 (64-bit version is strongly recommended, and likely required for newer versions).
- Processor (CPU): Intel Core i3 (around 6th generation or newer) or equivalent AMD processor.
- Memory (RAM): 4 GB RAM (8 GB is often recommended for better performance).
- Graphics Card (GPU): Intel HD Graphics 5000 or better; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 700 series or better; AMD Radeon R5 series or better. A dedicated graphics card is generally beneficial.
- Disk Space: At least 2 GB of free hard disk space for installation (you'll need significantly more space for your project files, cache files, and exported videos).
- Screen Resolution: 1280 x 768 pixels or higher.
4. Check for Conflicts:
- Temporarily Disable Antivirus/Firewall (Testing): Even if it didn't interfere with installation, your security software might be blocking CapCut from running properly. Temporarily disable it and try launching CapCut. If it works, you'll need to add an exception for CapCut in your security software's settings. Remember to re-enable it afterward.
- Perform a Clean Boot: This starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. It helps identify if a background application is conflicting with CapCut.
-
- Search for
msconfig
in the Windows search bar and open "System Configuration". - Go to the "Services" tab.
- Check the box "Hide all Microsoft services".
- Search for
-
- Click "Disable all".
-
- Go to the "Startup" tab and click "Open Task Manager".
- Disable all startup items listed there.
- Close Task Manager, click "OK" in System Configuration, and restart your PC.
- Try launching CapCut. If it works now, a background service or startup program was the cause. You'll need to re-enable them one by one (restarting each time) to find the culprit. (Remember to reverse these steps afterward by re-enabling services and startup items).

5. Check Event Viewer:
Windows logs application errors. This might give a clue.
- Right-click the Start button and select "Event Viewer".
- Expand "Windows Logs" on the left and click on "Application".
- Look for any Error events (marked with a red circle and exclamation mark) that occurred around the time you tried to launch CapCut. Check the "Source" column for anything related to CapCut or a general Application Error. The details might contain helpful error codes or messages.
6. Try Compatibility Mode:
- Right-click the CapCut shortcut or executable.
- Select "Properties".
- Go to the "Compatibility" tab.
- Check the box "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and try selecting an older version of Windows (like Windows 8 or 10).
- Click "Apply" and "OK", then try launching CapCut.
7. Adjust Windows Display Language:
-
Some users have found that changing the Windows display language to English (United States) can resolve the issue:
-
Press
Win + I
to open Settings. -
Go to "Time & Language" > "Language & region."
-
Under "Windows display language," select "English (United States)."
-
Restart your computer and try launching CapCut again.
-
-
After the first successful launch, you can revert to your original language settings.
8. Allow CapCut Through Windows Defender Firewall:
-
CapCut might be blocked by the firewall:
-
Press
Win
and search for "Windows Defender Firewall," then open it. -
Click on "Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall."
-
If CapCut is not listed, click on "Allow another app," browse to the CapCut executable, and add it.
-
Ensure both "Private" and "Public" are checked, then click "OK."
-
If after trying all these steps CapCut still refuses to open, the issue might be a more specific bug with the current version of CapCut on your particular hardware/software configuration. In that case, reporting the issue to CapCut technical support with details about your system might be the next step. Write an email to [email protected]
