Hi,

Since you have already tried the common fixes like reinstalling, updating, and changing the phone language, let us explore other possibilities and workarounds.

Here is a breakdown of what might be happening and what you can try:

  1. Check CapCut’s settings: Even if your iPhone language is set to Swedish, CapCut has its own language settings. Go to CapCut’s settings within the app and see if there’s an option to choose the language for subtitles or captions specifically.

  2. Check the Specific Auto-Caption Language List:

    • Go into CapCut, load a video clip, tap 'Text', then 'Auto Captions'.
    • Tap on the 'Sound source' (usually defaults to 'From video') and then look carefully at the 'Select language' list that appears. Scroll through it thoroughly. Sometimes languages aren't perfectly alphabetized or might be grouped differently. Is it definitely not there? Are other expected languages (like Norwegian, Danish, Finnish) present?
  3. Change CapCut's region settings: Sometimes, CapCut has regional settings that differ from the language settings. Look for an option to change the app’s region to Sweden, if available.
  4. Server-Side Issue: Sometimes, language packs or feature lists are downloaded from CapCut's servers. There could be a temporary glitch preventing the Swedish option from loading. Waiting a day or two and checking again might resolve it if this is the case, but don't rely heavily on this.

  5. Clear the app's cache: On iPhone, you can’t directly clear cache, but you can try logging out of CapCut, then logging back in after restarting your device. This can sometimes resolve unexpected glitches.
  6. iOS Version Compatibility: Ensure your iPhone's iOS is up-to-date. While you checked for CapCut updates, sometimes app features rely on underlying capabilities in the operating system. Go to Settings > General > Software Update.

  7. Try a different video format or project type: Some features, like auto captions, may not support all types of projects. Try starting a new project with different video content or format.
  8. Contact CapCut Technical Support:

    • Action: Look within the CapCut app for a 'Feedback' option (in the Profile or Settings section). Report the issue clearly, stating you are on an iPhone, your iOS version, the CapCut version, and that Swedish is missing specifically from the Auto Captions language list despite trying standard troubleshooting.

Workarounds If Swedish Isn't Supported for Auto-Captions:

  1. Manual Captions: Add text boxes manually and type the Swedish captions yourself. This gives full control but takes more time.
  2. Use a Different Transcription Service:
    • Use an online transcription service (many support Swedish) or a dedicated transcription app to generate an SRT caption file from your video's audio.
    • Import the SRT file into CapCut (if CapCut on iOS supports SRT import - check under the 'Text' options).
    • Alternatively, transcribe the audio elsewhere (even using voice typing into a notes app might be faster than pure manual typing) and copy-paste the text into CapCut's manual caption tool sentence by sentence.

Based on how language support often rolls out, it's possible that Swedish just hasn't been added to the iOS auto-caption feature yet. Contacting support is the best way to confirm this and let them know there's demand for it.
