Im using the web version of capcut but anytime when im doing the tutorial i get the something went wrong. try again later. and i checked animations, HALF OF THEM WERE DISAPPEARING!
Hi,
This is a known limitation + instability issue with the web version of CapCut. Here’s what’s going on and how to fix and work around it.
Why animations are disappearing in the web version?
1. CapCut Web does not include all animations
The web editor is missing many animations that exist in:
-
CapCut Desktop (Windows/Mac)
-
CapCut Mobile (iOS/Android)
So when a tutorial shows animations that you don’t see, that is mostly because: Those animations do not exist on the web version
This is the most common cause.
2. “Something went wrong. Try again later” = server-side failure
This error usually happens when:
-
CapCut’s animation servers fail to load
-
Your browser blocks required assets
-
The animation library times out
When that happens, CapCut hides part of the animation list, making it look like half of them disappeared.
Things that commonly break animations on CapCut Web
Browser issues
CapCut Web works best on Chrome or Edge
Problems happen if you’re using:
-
Firefox (very common issue)
-
Safari
-
Brave (shields block assets)
Fix
-
Switch to Google Chrome
-
Disable ad blockers
-
Turn off browser tracking protection
Cache corruption
Corrupted cached assets can prevent animations from loading.
Fix
-
Clear browser cache (last 24 hours)
-
Reload CapCut
-
Log out → log back in
Region / account mismatch
Some animation packs are:
-
Region-locked
-
Rolled out gradually by account
That’s why:
-
Tutorials show animations you never get
-
Animations disappear after refresh
Unfortunately, there’s no manual fix for this on web.
The recommended solution
Use CapCut Desktop (this fixes everything)
The desktop app:
-
Has 100% of animations
-
Never throws the “something went wrong” error
-
Matches most tutorials exactly
If you are following tutorials, CapCut Web is the wrong tool.
Quick workaround if you must stay on Web
-
Duplicate the text layer (sometimes forces reload)
-
Refresh the page before opening Animations
-
Apply animation → wait 2–3 seconds → don’t click fast
-
Avoid switching tabs while animations are loading
These are temporary fixes, not permanent ones.
Summary
-
CapCut Web = missing animations + unstable
-
CapCut Desktop = full library + reliable
-
Tutorials usually assume desktop or mobile
