I am a CapCut Pro user. I am experiencing an issue while using the AI Avatar feature on CapCut.

Whenever I try to work with the avatar, I continuously receive an error message that says, "Could not apply avatar." Additionally, the text I enter for the avatar is not being accepted, preventing me from proceeding with this feature.

Could you please assist me in resolving this issue so I can continue to use the AI Avatar feature as intended?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi,

You are a CapCut Pro user facing issues with the AI Avatar feature, specifically getting a "Could not apply avatar" error and having trouble with text input. Let us go through some troubleshooting steps to try and resolve this.

AI features rely on stable connections and server processing, so issues can sometimes arise from various factors. AI Avatar feature is a significant part of CapCut, users do sometimes experience persistent issues with various CapCut features, including AI ones. There isn't widespread news of the AI Avatar feature being down right now, but server-side issues or app bugs can still occur.

The error "Could not apply avatar" and the issue with the text not being accepted typically point to one of the following causes in CapCut Pro:

  • Internet Connectivity
    • AI Avatar processing requires a stable internet connection.
    • Ensure you're on a strong, stable Wi-Fi or cellular connection. Try switching networks (Wi-Fi ↔ Mobile Data).
  • CapCut Server Issue or Bug
    • Sometimes CapCut’s servers for AI features may be temporarily down or buggy.
      • Check CapCut’s official social media accounts for downtime.
      • Wait and try again later, or test the feature at a different time of day.
  • Unsupported Text Format
    • The text you enter may include emojis, unsupported characters, or be too long.
    • Use plain English text (or another supported language).
    • Avoid special characters, emojis, or very long input.
  • Outdated App Version
    • Go to the App Store or Google Play Store and make sure CapCut is updated to the latest version.
  • Simplify Text Input:
    • As a test, enter very basic text for the avatar (e.g., "Test"). Avoid long sentences, special characters, or potentially complex phrasing to rule out input-related issues. The search results mention narration/script limits (e.g., 1000 words in one source), though your issue seems to occur earlier.
  • Check Regional Availability:
    • Some advanced AI features have phased rollouts or regional restrictions (like the AI Lip Sync). While the core Avatar feature is likely widely available, ensure it's supported in your region.
    • Try logging out of your CapCut account and logging back in.
    • If you're using a VPN, disable it.
    • If you recently changed your device language or region, switch it back to your original setting and try again.

If none of these work:

  1. Try using the AI Avatar feature with a different input prompt or template.

  2. Test on another device (if available) with the same CapCut account.

  3. Contact CapCut Support through the app:

    • Tap your profile > Settings > Help Center > Feedback.

    • Explain the exact error: "Could not apply avatar" and the text issue.

Hopefully, one of these steps will get the AI Avatar feature working for you again!
