I’m posting this because the text-to-speech audio generation feature on the CapCut website is still not functioning properly, and now there’s an additional issue: it’s impossible to download the audio after generation. This has been happening for weeks, and given the subscription cost we pay monthly, this is completely unacceptable.

Despite numerous reports and complaints, no official fix or update has been provided. Creators are stuck — we can generate the audio, but we cannot download it for use in our videos. This breaks workflows and wastes time.
The lack of action is frustrating: we’re paying for a feature that doesn’t work, and there's zero communication from the support team.

CapCut team, this is a serious disruption. Please provide a transparent update on what you’re doing to fix the download issue, and restore full functionality immediately.

Hi,

This issue has been affecting a large number of CapCut Web users, especially those relying on the Text-to-Speech (TTS) tool for voiceovers and automated narration.

Current situation:

  • Users have reported that generated TTS audio cannot be downloaded — the “Download” button either doesn’t respond, shows an error, or produces a blank/missing file.

  • The issue is limited to CapCut Web (capcut.com)desktop and mobile versions seem unaffected (though they offer fewer voices and languages).

  • This problem has persisted for several weeks, and no official statement or patch has been released from CapCut’s support or product team.

  • Users with paid CapCut Pro or Standard plans are understandably frustrated, as the feature is listed as part of the subscription benefits.

Why is this happening?

Based on the feedback we have recieved from the users:

  1. CapCut’s TTS system runs through server-side voice generation, and the audio file link expires immediately instead of caching properly for download.

  2. In some browsers (notably Chrome and Edge), security or CORS policy changes block the generated file’s request.

  3. The issue is not tied to your subscription status it is a global backend or permissions bug.

Workarounds to try until this issue is fixed:

Here are the few working methods you can use until CapCut development team rolls out a fix:

  1. Use CapCut Desktop (Windows/Mac)

    • Go to Text → Text-to-Speech inside the editor.

    • Generate your audio there — it can be added to your timeline and then exported as a separate audio track.

    • To do this: mute all video tracks → export the project as audio only (MP3/WAV).

  2. Use Screen Recorder or Audio Capture

    • As a temporary measure, you can record the system audio while playing the generated speech.

    • Apps like Audacity, OBS, or even CapCut Desktop’s own recording function can capture it cleanly.

  3. Try Alternate Browsers or Clearing Cache

    • Some of our forum members have noticed that using Firefox or Safari, or by clearing cookies for capcut.com and logging in again can temporarily work.

    • Alternatively try opening CapCut Web in Incognito Mode.

  4. Use an Alternative TTS Tool Until Fixed

    • Reliable free/paid options include ElevenLabs, Play.ht, or Narakeet which you can generate and import audio into CapCut easily.

Since this is a persistent backend issue, the best course is to:

  • Submit a bug report directly through CapCut’s Help Center. If developers receive more such reports, the chances of getting an earlier fix will be higher.

  • In the report, include details such as:

    • Your browser and OS version

    • Screenshot or screen recording of the failed download attempt

    • Mention that the issue persists since several weeks

This helps prioritize the fix.

Expected resolution timeline

CapCut has been rolling out maintenance updates for the web version roughly every 2–3 weeks. It is possible the next cycle (late October or early November) will include a fix for this issue. However, there is no official ETA yet from the developers.
