I think I have two seperate accounts under my name in capcut. I signed up for one the other day with the $8.99 deal that will end on the 28/5 however, for some reason my laptop signed me out and I cant figure out how I made that account as I couldn't sign back in (I'm not sure what email I used as I have a few). Today I resigned using my apple ID and paid the $8.99 again with a different card. I am just wanting to close down the first account that I made so I don't have to keep paying for two accounts. I'm not sure how to locate my first account and close it

Hi,

Thanks for the detailed explanation it sounds like you're accidentally subscribed to two CapCut Pro accounts and are understandably trying to cancel the one you can't access or identify.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you identify, locate, and close the first CapCut account:

Step 1: Check Which Email or Login Was Used for the First Account

Try to remember or check:

  • Your email inboxes (all of them) for any emails from CapCut or ByteDance around the day you first subscribed.

  • Search terms to use:

    • CapCut Pro,

    • ByteDance,

    • receipt,

    • subscription,

    • App Store, or Google Play if mobile.

  • Also check Spam and Promotions folders.

If the subscription was made via Google Play Store or Apple App Store, it will show in your purchase history:

  • iOS: Go to Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions

  • Android: Open Play Store > Tap your profile > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions

If you used CapCut via PC or web, it’s likely connected to an email address, TikTok, or Facebook account.

Step 2: Identify Both Accounts

Sign in to CapCut Web and go to:

  • Account Settings → Profile
There you can see the email, Apple ID, or social login method used.

Do this on both:

  • The account you're currently using

  • And try logging in with other emails or social accounts you own to see if you can access the first account.

Step 3: Cancel the Subscription for the First Account

Once you identify the first account, cancel the subscription using the platform it was purchased on:

  • If via App Store:
Go to your Apple ID → Subscriptions and cancel CapCut.

  • If via Google Play:
Use the Google Play Store > Subscriptions section.

  • If via Web/PC with card payment:
You may have paid directly via CapCut’s site. In that case, login at CapCut.com, go to Account Settings > Billing, and cancel the subscription there.

Step 4: Request a Refund

If you've been double charged, you can request a refund:

Step 5: Permanently Delete or Deactivate the Old Account

Once you've located and canceled the subscription for the first account:

  1. Login to that CapCut account.

  2. Go to Account Settings > Security > Delete Account

  3. Follow the steps to permanently delete it.

If you're stuck, you can email:
[email protected]

Here's a plan of action:

  1. Gather Information (as much as you can):

    • Payment method for the first account: Even if you don't remember the full card number, knowing the type of card (Visa, Mastercard, etc.) and potentially the last four digits (if you can find a transaction record) can help them track it.
    • Possible email addresses: List out all the email addresses you might have used to sign up for the first account.
    • Payment method for the second account: You mentioned using your Apple ID and a "different card." This is good to know.
    • Any transaction IDs or receipts: Check your email for receipts from CapCut or your bank/card statements for the $8.99 charge. These will have crucial information.
  2. Contact CapCut Support:

    • Write an email to [email protected]
    • Explain your situation clearly:
      • State that you believe you have two active subscriptions under your name.
      • Provide the details you gathered in step 1.
      • Emphasize that you want to cancel the first subscription and keep the one linked to your Apple ID.
      • Mention that you are unable to log into the first account because you don't recall the email.
    • Be prepared to provide verification: They will likely ask for information to verify your identity and ownership of the accounts. This could include parts of your payment card numbers, transaction dates, names on the cards, etc.
  3. Check your bank/card statements:

    • Regularly monitor the statement of the card used for the first subscription. If CapCut support can't find it immediately, or if there's a delay, you'll want to ensure that no further charges are made after you've requested cancellation.

Use a message like this:

Subject: Request to Locate and Cancel Extra CapCut Pro Subscription

Body:

Hello,

I believe I accidentally created and subscribed to two CapCut Pro accounts. I subscribed to one on [date] for $8.99, but was logged out and I cannot remember the email or login method I used. Today I subscribed again using my Apple ID and a different card.

I’d like help locating and canceling the first account to avoid being charged twice.

Here’s what I know:

  • Name: [Your Name]

  • Possible emails: [List all you use]

  • Payment dates: [List both]

  • Last 4 digits of card(s): [Optional, if one was a direct card payment]

I’d really appreciate if you could cancel the duplicate and assist with a refund if possible.

Important Considerations:

  • Apple ID Subscriptions: For the account signed up with your Apple ID, remember that Apple manages those subscriptions directly. Even if CapCut cancels it on their end, you might also need to verify its cancellation through your Apple ID subscription settings.
    • On your iPhone/iPad: Go to Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions.
    • On your Mac: Open the App Store, click your name, then "View Information" and scroll to Subscriptions.
  • Proof of Purchase: Having transaction IDs or screenshots of the charges on your bank statement will significantly help CapCut support locate the correct account.

By following these steps and providing as much detail as possible to CapCut support, you should be able to resolve this and avoid paying for two accounts.
