Does anyone else find the lip-syncing and video translating function problematic? I have no idea what to do because it constantly stops at 20% or whatever. Do you have any other reliable applications for dubbing and translation?

Hi,

Yes CapCut’s lip-syncing and video translation features can be sometimes unreliable or glitchy and many users have reported in our forum of it freezing around certain percentages, like ~20% and generally inconsistent.

Below we will guide you about what you can do instead including some reliable alternative apps and tools for dubbing, translation, and lip-syncing:

Why CapCut Translation/Lip-Sync sometimes fails

Common issues users encounter include:

  • Translation or Lip-Sync stopping partway (e.g., stuck at ~20%) has been reported by multiple users.

  • Lip-sync generation taking a very long time or never completing.

  • Buggy behavior depending on file size, network, or region settings as CapCut’s server-side features (AI tools) fail on overloaded or busy servers.

  • Sometimes the feature isn’t fully available in your region or app version, especially on mobile.

Basic fixes to try within CapCut app itself:

  1. Update to the latest version (lip-sync and translator features get updated faster).

  2. Clear cache/reinstall the app and try again.

  3. Try a different network or device — sometimes mobile data vs Wi-Fi shows different results.

  4. Use CapCut Desktop (PC/Mac) — occasionally the web/desktop editor handles heavy tasks better.

  5. Start with a shorter video clip as a test — big files sometimes crash the translation queue.

Reliable alternative apps & Tools for Dubbing + Translation

If CapCut’s AI dubbing and lip-sync are too unstable, these tools are commonly used by creators for better results:

Dedicated Video Translation + AI Dubbing

  • Vozo AI – AI tool focusing on translation with subtitles, dubbing, and lip-sync features. Good for social videos and tutorials.

  • GhostCut (online video translator) – Converts videos with automated subtitles, translates audio, and offers AI dubbing with reasonably good sync. (Standalone, browser-based)

AI video & voice tools (good for dubbing / localization)

Many platforms combine subtitles, TTS (text-to-speech), and voice cloning:

Descript – Great for editing video + automatic transcription + overdub voices.
Fliki AI – Simple text-to-video with AI voiceovers.
Synthesia – Best for AI avatar dubbing (realistic speaker avatars) with synced dialogue.
Rask AI – Focused on video translation + synced dubbing workflows (good for creators, pro users).
Vidnoz AI / Podcastle AI – Strong options for voice cloning and AI voiceovers.

What type of tool should you pick?

Need Best Tool Type
Simple translation + subtitles AI subtitle tools like Vozo or GhostCut
Full voice dubbing Descript, Fliki, Synthesia
Realistic lip-sync AI dubbing-focused platforms like Rask AI or Synthesia
Desktop professional editing + dubbing Descript or dedicated video editors with plugins

Tips for Better Results

  • Export audio first and use a dedicated dubbing tool — more reliable than relying on CapCut’s internal feature.
  • Use cloud/desktop tools for heavy AI tasks — mobile is less stable on high-quality jobs.
  • For multiple languages (like English ↔ Hindi, Spanish, etc.), platforms like Rask AI specialize in localization.

Summary

  • CapCut’s translator/lip sync feature does work sometimes, but many users experience hangs/stalls at various percentages.
  • It’s not always reliable for longer or higher-quality projects.
  • Alternatives like Vozo AI, GhostCut, Descript, Fliki, Synthesia, and Rask AI offer more stable and higher-quality dubbing and translation results.

If you can let us know the language pair you are working with (e.g., English→French) or the type of video (YouTube short, interview, etc.), we can suggest the best tools for that specific workflow.
