I'm having an issue with exporting videos. Every time I want to export a video I only have access to 3 exports a week.
I have made sure that I disabled every single PRO feature that came enabled by default, but I still only get 3 exports a week.
I have reinstalled Capcut countless times, but this issue still persists.
What can I do to solve this problem of mine?
Hi,
You are encountering CapCut’s export limitation for free users, but your case is unusual if you have removed all Pro features. Here's a step-by-step breakdown of what is happening and how to try resolving it:
Why This Happens
CapCut free users (especially on desktop) are sometimes limited to 3 exports per week if:
-
Pro features are accidentally used (even hidden ones like AI effects, trending text styles, etc.)
-
Cloud templates are used (even if they look free)
-
Pro fonts, transitions, or effects are added and not removed properly
-
Cache issues or glitches cause CapCut to think Pro features are present even if you removed them
- Even after disabling visible PRO features, it's possible CapCut's backend still detects the use of certain elements as "premium" or that the free version inherently has a low export limit, especially if you're working on larger projects or higher resolutions (even if not 4K).
- CapCut, like many freemium apps, relies on encouraging users to subscribe to the "Pro" version by limiting certain functionalities in the free tier.
Here's what you can do to try and solve this problem:
1. Identify and Remove Hidden "Pro" Elements:
Even if you think you've disabled all PRO features, sometimes a small detail can trigger it.
-
Check every single element: Go through your entire timeline and check every single clip, effect, transition, text, sticker, and filter.
-
Look for any elements that have a "PRO" crown icon on them.
-
Even if you're using a free version, sometimes a pre-set style or animation may contain a Pro element that isn't immediately obvious.
-
-
Text/Titles/Captions: Certain font styles, animations, or text effects are considered PRO. Try simplifying your text or using basic styles.
-
Sound Effects/Music: While much of CapCut's music library is free, some specific sound effects or licensed music tracks ARE be PRO.
-
AI Features: CapCut has been adding more AI-powered tools (like AI background removal, auto-captioning, AI motion tracking). Many of these are PRO features. Even if you briefly used one and then removed it, it may still leave a trace.
-
Smart Brush/Smart Eraser: If you've used tools like the "Smart Brush" or "Smart Eraser" for background removal or object removal, these are often Pro features and can cause export issues. You will need to reset or remove these sections and find a free alternative or manually edit.
-
High Resolution/Frame Rate: While not always strictly a "Pro" feature that stops export, trying to export at 4K resolution is usually a CapCut Pro feature. The free version typically limits you to 1080p. Check your export settings and make sure you're not trying to export at 4K.
2. Workarounds if you must use a "Pro" feature or are still blocked:
-
Convert to Compound Clip and Preprocess (CapCut PC/Desktop): This is a workaround for PC users:
-
Select everything in your timeline (Ctrl+A or Cmd+A).
-
Right-click and select "Convert to Compound Clip."
-
Right-click the newly created compound clip and select "Preprocess."
-
Wait for it to process.
-
Go to your CapCut draft folder on your computer. Inside your project folder, you will find the fully rendered clip, even if the app blocked the direct export.
-
This essentially forces CapCut to render the clip locally before flagging it as a Pro export.
-
-
Screen recording as a last resort: If all else fails and you're desperate to get your video out, you can play your edited video in CapCut and use a screen recording software on your device (built-in screen recorder on phones, OBS on PC, QuickTime on Mac) to record the playback. The downside is a potential loss in quality and you'll have to deal with any UI elements in the recording.
-
Consider a Temporary Email for New Account: Create a new CapCut account with temporary email addresses to get more "free" exports. However, this is a tedious and unsustainable solution, and goes against CapCut's intended usage.
3. General Troubleshooting for Export Issues:
While these might not directly address the 3-export limit, they can resolve general export problems:
- Check If You're Signed In on Multiple Devices: CapCut applies export limits per account, not per device. If you are logged in on multiple devices and exporting from them, it counts across all.
- Try CapCut Web (no Export limit):
- Use CapCut online at: https://www.capcut.com/editor
- The web version currently has no export limits and no watermark for most basic edits.
-
Clear CapCut Cache: Over time, cache data can build up and cause issues. Look for a "Clear Cache" option in CapCut's settings.
-
Update CapCut: Ensure you are running the absolute latest version of CapCut. Developers frequently release updates that fix bugs and improve performance.
-
Check Device Storage: Make sure your device has ample free storage space for the exported video.
-
Restart Device: A simple device restart can often clear temporary glitches.
-
Disable Hardware Encoding (CapCut PC): If you're on CapCut PC, go to Menu > Settings > Performance and try unchecking "Speed up hardware encoding." Sometimes this can resolve export problems.
-
Stable Internet Connection: For some cloud-based features or syncing, a stable internet connection is necessary, especially if you're exporting directly to an online platform.
Still Not Working?
If you have done everything and still hit the limit:
-
Go to: CapCut > Settings > Feedback
-
Send a detailed report with:
-
Screenshot of the export warning
-
OS version and CapCut version
-
Mention you have removed all Pro features
-
They can manually reset your export counter or flag your account for review.
Recommendation:
Start by meticulously checking every single element in your project for any hidden PRO indicators. If you're on a PC, try the "Convert to Compound Clip and Preprocess" workaround.
If the issue persists, and you find CapCut's free limitations too restrictive for your needs, you might have to consider subscribing to CapCut Pro or exploring alternative free video editing software.
