I purchased CapCut Pro to edit all my videos, but now when I try to export, it keeps telling me I need to upgrade to use Pro features—even though I already subscribed. When I try to repurchase, it says I'm already subscribed, yet it still won’t let me use the features unless I “join Pro.” How can I fix this? I’ve already finished editing my video and really need to upload it.

Hi,

This is a frustrating issue, but it is a common problem with CapCut Pro and other subscription-based apps. Here's how you can fix it and regain access to the Pro features without losing your work:

Step-by-Step Fix for CapCut Pro Not Recognizing Active Subscription

  • Restore Purchase:
    • CapCut sometimes fails to sync your subscription properly. Use the built-in "Restore Purchase" option:
      • Open CapCut.
      • Tap your Profile icon (bottom right).
      • Tap Settings (⚙️ icon).
      • Tap Restore Purchases.
      • Wait a few seconds for the app to validate your subscription.
      • This usually fixes the issue without needing to repurchase or reinstall.
  • Make Sure You're Logged into the Right Account
    • Check that you're signed into the same Apple ID (on iPhone) or Google Play account (on Android) that you used to buy the subscription.
    • Also check that you're logged into the correct CapCut account (especially if you signed in with TikTok or email).
  • Check Your App Store Subscription Status
    • To confirm that your CapCut Pro subscription is active:
      • iPhone
        • Settings → Your Name → Subscriptions → CapCut
      • Android
        • Google Play Store → Profile → Payments & Subscriptions → Subscriptions
    • Make sure it says “Active.”
  • Update or Reinstall CapCut
    • If the above didn’t work:
      • Update CapCut to the latest version from the App Store/Play Store.
      • If that fails, reinstall the app (your projects are stored in iCloud/Google Drive or locally and usually remain safe—but back them up first).
    • Before reinstalling, export your project as a draft or save your project file if you can.
  • Contact CapCut Support (if all else fails)
    • Open CapCut → Profile → Settings → Help Center or Feedback.
    • Explain the problem and include a screenshot of your subscription status from the App Store or Google Play.
    • They usually respond within 24–48 hours.

Let us know what device you are using (iPhone, Android, or PC), and we can help you more precisely for your situation.

If you are using CapCut Pro on Android and it's not recognizing your active subscription (even though Google Play says you're subscribed), here’s exactly what to do:

1. Restore your purchase in CapCut

CapCut sometimes doesn't sync your subscription right away. To fix that:

  • Open the CapCut app.

  • Tap your Profile icon (bottom right).

  • Tap the gear icon (⚙️ Settings) at the top.

  • Scroll down and tap “Restore Purchases”.

  • Wait a few moments — you should now have access to Pro features.

2. Confirm your Google Play subscription

Make sure you’re signed in with the Google account that purchased CapCut Pro:

  • Open Google Play Store.

  • Tap your profile photo (top right) → Payments & subscriptionsSubscriptions.

  • Check that CapCut is listed as Active.

If it’s listed under a different Google account, CapCut won’t recognize it unless you switch to that account on your device.

3. Clear Cache/Data for CapCut

Sometimes a corrupted cache causes sync issues:

  • Go to Settings > Apps > CapCut > Storage.

  • Tap Clear Cache.

  • If that doesn’t help, tap Clear Data (this might remove local projects—export first if possible).

  • Open CapCut again and tap Restore Purchases in Settings.

4. Update or Reinstall CapCut (backup first!)

  • Go to Play Store → Search CapCut → Tap “Update” if available.

  • Still broken? Try reinstalling:

    • Open CapCut and export or back up your project first.

    • Then uninstall and reinstall CapCut from the Play Store.

    • Open it and go to Settings → Restore Purchases.

5. Contact CapCut Support

  • Inside CapCut: Profile → Settings → Feedback or Help Center.

  • Or email support at [email protected]
  • Explain the issue clearly and attach a screenshot of your active CapCut subscription from Google Play.

If you need help exporting your project safely before clearing data or reinstalling you can read this guide.
