Hi,

I have read reports of incidents like what you have described, especially after:

logging back into CapCut with a different authentication state (even if it's the same TikTok account),

traveling between regions (India is a notable one because CapCut's availability and content can differ there), or

an app update that forces a fresh sync.

From the video which you have shared, the Templates tab itself isn't completely broken it looks like it's only loading the built-in/default text styles rather than your cloud-saved ones.

The fact that your custom fonts are still there but saved text templates are missing suggests your account is only partially syncing.

A few things I would try, in order:

Confirm you're logged into the exact same account.

Go to Profile → Settings → Account and make sure it's the same TikTok account you used before. Sometimes CapCut creates a separate account depending on whether you signed in with TikTok, Apple, Google, or email.

Force a cloud refresh.

Sign out of CapCut.

Force close the app.

Restart your iPhone.

Sign back in.

Check whether the templates appear on another device.

If you have an iPad or another phone, sign into the same account. If they're missing there too, it's likely a server/account sync issue rather than your iPhone.

Try another network or disable any VPN.

Since you were in India for several months, your account may have been assigned a different regional content endpoint. Switching between Wi-Fi and cellular (or vice versa) has helped force a refresh.

Reinstall CapCut (only if your projects are backed up or you don't mind losing local drafts).

This clears the local cache and often fixes corrupted sync data.

About the Templates page

If you mean the page is only showing a handful of default templates (like in your screenshot), that's usually a sign that CapCut isn't downloading your personalized cloud data rather than the feature being removed.

One question

When you say your saved text templates are gone, do you mean:

the templates you created yourself by tapping Save as template on text, or

the community templates from CapCut's Templates feed that you had bookmarked?

Those are stored differently, and knowing which one disappeared will narrow down whether this is an account-sync issue or a regional-content issue.

Hi,

Based on your VirusTotal screenshot, I would not immediately assume the APK is malicious, but I also wouldn't automatically trust it.

From the screenshot:

2 vendors detected it out of dozens of antivirus engines.

The detections are:

AhnLab-V3:
PUP/Android.Agent...

Symantec Mobile Insight:
AdLibrary:Generisk

Every other major engine (Bitdefender, Avast, Avira, ClamAV, CrowdStrike, etc.) reports Undetected.

A detection rate this low often points to one of two possibilities:

False positives (quite common for Android APKs).

An app containing advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs that some vendors classify as potentially unwanted rather than outright malware.

About "AdLibrary"

AdLibrary
usually means the antivirus found an advertising SDK inside the app. That is not automatically a virus.

Many free Android apps including video editors include:

advertising SDKs

analytics SDKs

crash reporting

background services for notifications or syncing

Some security vendors flag these as "AdLibrary" or "Riskware" because they can collect usage data or display ads.

Is it normal that it stays running?

Yes, it can be.

Android apps can keep background processes alive for reasons like:

handling notifications

checking for updates

media processing

analytics uploads

maintaining cached resources

Simply swiping an app away from Recent Apps does not necessarily terminate all of its background services.

That said, if CapCut is constantly running even when you haven't used it for a long time, that's more of a privacy or battery concern than proof of malware.

The most important question: Where did the APK come from?

This matters much more than the VirusTotal score.

Official CapCut website or Google Play: low risk.

APKMirror: generally considered reputable because they verify APK signatures.

Random APK site or Telegram channel: much higher risk. Modified APKs are common.

A legitimate CapCut APK downloaded from an official source should have a valid signature matching the publisher.

What I would recommend

If the APK came from an official source, 2/60+ detections alone would not worry me.

If it came from an unofficial APK site, I'd be much more cautious, regardless of the low detection count.

Check the Permissions the app requests. If a video editor is asking for unrelated permissions (SMS, phone calls, accessibility, etc.), that's a red flag.

Monitor battery usage and network activity. Excessive background activity without explanation deserves investigation.

Hi,

CapCut has changed the interface quite a bit over the last couple of years. The good news is that Chroma Key hasn't been removed from the mobile app, but it's no longer as obvious as it used to be.

Here's where to find it on recent versions:

Create a new project and add your background clip first.

Tap Overlay → Add overlay and import your green screen footage.

Select the overlay clip on the timeline (this is important).

Scroll the bottom toolbar until you find Remove BG.

Tap Remove BG → Chroma Key.

Use the color picker to select the green (or blue) background, then adjust the Intensity (and any edge/shadow controls if available) until the background disappears.

If you don't see "Chroma Key"

There are a few possibilities:

The overlay clip isn't selected. Chroma Key only appears when the overlay video is active.

You're looking at the main clip instead of an overlay. The option is tied to overlays, not the base video.

Your app version or region is using a different feature rollout. CapCut sometimes A/B tests or changes feature availability by version or region.

AI Remove Background is being emphasized instead. Some versions surface the AI background remover more prominently, especially for Premium users, while Chroma Key is tucked inside the Remove BG menu.

If Chroma Key really isn't available

If your version genuinely doesn't include it, your alternatives are:

AI Background Removal (better for people without a green screen, but may require Premium).

Install an older CapCut version (only if you're comfortable sideloading on Android; not recommended for security reasons).

Use CapCut Desktop, which still includes a dedicated Chroma Key tool.

If you tell me:

Android or iPhone?

Your CapCut version (Settings → About),

I can check whether Chroma Key should be available in that specific version or whether it has been removed from your build.

Hi,

Yes this is pretty straightforward in CapCut once you know which clip to animate.

Since both characters are in the same overlay, you don't zoom the background image you animate the overlay clip that contains both characters.

Here's how:

Select the overlay clip on the timeline (the one with both characters).

Move the playhead to the point where you want the zoom to begin.

Tap Keyframe (the diamond icon) to create your starting position.

Move the playhead forward to where you want the zoom to finish.

Pinch outward on the preview (or use the Scale control) to zoom in, then drag the image so the other character's face is centered.

CapCut automatically creates a second keyframe. During playback, it will smoothly animate from the first position to the second.

To make the zoom feel more dramatic

Make the zoom fairly slow (1–3 seconds usually works well).

Select the keyframes and choose Ease In/Out (or similar easing) so the movement starts gently instead of at a constant speed.

Time the start of the zoom with the beginning of the ringing sound so the visual and audio effects reinforce each other.

If it isn't working

If the two characters are actually on separate overlay clips, you have two options:

Zoom both overlays together by selecting them (if your version supports grouping) or by nesting them in a compound clip.

Apply identical keyframes to both overlay clips so they scale and move in exactly the same way. Otherwise, only one character will zoom while the other stays fixed.

If you tell me whether the characters are:

in one video overlay clip,

two separate overlay clips, or

a still image,

I can give the exact steps for your setup.

Hi,

This is a common issue in CapCut.

When a mask looks perfect frame-by-frame while scrubbing or paused but slips out of alignment during live playback, the issue stems from CapCut using a temporary lower-resolution engine or proxy to handle real-time rendering.

During active playback, CapCut drops rendering precision to keep frame rates smooth, causing positional offsets between your mask coordinates and the underlying video frame.

1. Disable Proxy Mode or Preview Quality Reduction

If Proxy Mode or low-quality playback is turned on, CapCut rescales the preview window. This scale shift often causes mask bounding boxes to drift out of sync while playing.

Desktop (PC/Mac):

Click on any blank space on your timeline (so no clip is selected) to bring up Details / Project Settings on the right panel.

Click Modify next to Project Settings.

Go to the Performance tab.

Toggle Proxy OFF (or set preview quality back to Quality Priority instead of Performance).

Mobile:

Tap the player resolution menu (usually top right or on the player options) and switch from Performance Mode / Low Quality back to Original / High Quality.

2. Nest / Compound the Clip Before Masking

If your clip has speed changes, stabilization, re-framing, or keyframes applied BEFORE masking, CapCut’s render engine can process the mask before or after those transforms asynchronously during live playback.

Select your clip on the timeline.

Right-click (or hold/select options on mobile) and choose Create Compound Clip.

Apply your mask and keyframes directly to the new Compound Clip.

Why this works: Compounding bakes all previous speed adjustments or scale transforms into a single static video stream, forcing the mask coordinates to stick precisely.

3. Convert Variable Frame Rate (VFR) Footage

If your footage was recorded on a smartphone or via screen recording (OBS, iPhone video, Twitch clips), it likely uses Variable Frame Rate (VFR).

During frame-by-frame scrubbing, CapCut calculates exact frame points.

During live playback, VFR causes clock drift, making keyframed masks lag behind or jump ahead.

Fix: Transcode the clip to a Constant Frame Rate (CFR) (e.g., 30 fps or 60 fps) using a free tool like HandBrake, or re-export the raw clip once from CapCut before editing/masking it.

4. Clear Cache & Enable Hardware Acceleration

A bloated preview cache can cause playback stutter and desync.

Clear Cache: Go to CapCut Settings → Draft / Media → Delete Cache.

Hardware Acceleration: Go to Settings → Performance → ensure Hardware Encoding / Hardware Decoding are enabled. Restart CapCut afterward.

How to test if it's just preview lag

If the mask is properly aligned when paused on keyframes, it usually exports correctly because the final export engine renders frame-by-frame without preview-throttling.

Try doing a quick 5-second test export of the masked section. If the exported file plays smoothly with no drift, you know it's purely a real-time preview display glitch.

I watched the video uploaded by you in your post. The effect doesn't look like a single built-in CapCut transition it's more of a 3D panel/cube unfold animation.

The closest CapCut effects/transitions to recreate it are:

3D Cube (or Cube Rotate) transition

Fold / Unfold transition

Split or Multi-Panel transition combined with a 3D rotation

A Mask (rectangle or multiple rectangles) with keyframed Rotation (Y) and Scale

How I would recreate it in CapCut

Place your clip on the timeline.

Duplicate the clip 4–6 times (one for each panel).

Apply rectangular masks so each duplicate only shows one panel.

Keyframe each panel:

Start with the panels rotated (as if folded into a cube).

Animate the Y Rotation (or use 3D Rotate if available) until they lie flat.

Slightly stagger the timing of each panel so they "open" one after another.

Add a small Motion Blur effect to smooth the movement.

Finish with a quick ease-out so the panels snap into the full image.

If you are looking for the exact CapCut preset...

I don't think this is one of CapCut's stock effects. It resembles edits commonly made in After Effects using plugins such as Element 3D or manually animated 3D layers, then exported for TikTok/Reels.

If you want the closest built-in CapCut option, I'd search under:

Transitions → 3D → Cube

Transitions → Fold

Effects → Distortion → Fold (depending on your CapCut version)

If you can upload just the first 1–2 seconds in higher quality (or a screen recording zoomed in on the opening), I can identify whether it's:

a specific CapCut preset,

a template,

or a custom keyframed effect, and give you the exact settings.

Yes I have noticed other users mentioning the behavior that's very similar to yours on CapCut 18.7.0 for iPhone. The following have been observed:

Text presets saving without outro animations (or only saving the font/style).

Specific text animations disappearing from the Animations panel after applying a preset or editing certain text layers.

Animation options behaving inconsistently after the latest update.

Based on what you've described, this looks much more like a bug in 18.7.0 than something you're doing wrong.

Things worth trying

Create a brand-new text layer (don't duplicate the broken one) and see if Bounce Out appears there.

Force close CapCut and restart your iPhone.

Offload/reinstall CapCut (after making sure your projects are backed up or synced). On iPhone, offloading can clear corrupted app data while preserving documents.

Test in a new blank project to see whether it's project-specific or app-wide.

Check the App Store for an update as 18.8.0 is now available, it's worth installing since bugs like this are fixed in subsequent releases.

If Bounce Out is missing only on certain text layers

That's another symptom others have reported: some text layers lose access to parts of the animation library, while newly created text layers still have them.

Unfortunately...

At the moment, there doesn't appear to be a reliable workaround that allows Bounce Out to be permanently included in a saved text preset on 18.7.0. The preset system not consistently saving text animations in this version.

If you can answer these two questions, I can narrow it down further:

Is Bounce Out missing for all new text layers, or only for text that had the preset applied?

Is Bounce Out a Pro animation on your account, or does it normally appear without a Pro subscription?
